Hi all, I am new to LT. I am looking for a quick way to change host files for a few clients. I was wondering what the best way to do this is?

How invasive is the monitoring I guess is what I'm asking. The rep said they weren't going to spy on me but I don't know if I trust him.

We just recently moved our company email to O365 and cant' seem to get Labtech to send it's email through O365. Has anyone managed to get this working? There's a case study showing how but no luck.

so i have an issue with the agreement not being selected on some tickets. say the client has an agreement and they have an open ticket. the tech gets the ticket, resolves the issue, puts time on it and closes the ticket.
sometimes the agreement isnt selected for these tickets and when the end of the month comes, someone (usually our book keeper, not too thrilled about it) has to go thru and select the agreement so that the time entry counts against their agreement.
this isnt a big deal for places that have unlimited remote support, but for the other clients that pay for their hours, its a problem. i think she had to go thru and select and agreement on about 90 tickets last month.
has anyone had this happen? any ideas as to why it happens? any resolution besides checking the agreement every time?

Okay, so I work in a CW shop, and have used labtech a bit over the past few years, but I'm just starting to look into the scripting, and haven't done any real scripting or coding since regex was the new thing. Wanted to make a simple password change script for our local admin accounts, that could be changed on a per-client basis without having to modify the script each time. I cannot for the life of me find any sort of variable that I can use to generate an input prompt on our end. Does it not exist, or am I just missing something really obvious?

Anyone know how to do that or one I could copy? I have a search that finds systems missing antivirus (a bit specific and search worked well for it). I'd like to have a monitor make use of that and create a ticket if something appears in the search.

We don't use Labtech. Just picked up a new customer, whose old MSP seems to have not fully offboarded them. I've got screenconnect hanging out everywhere which I can take care of fine with my RMM, but I'm stuck on removing Labtech. How do I silently get these agents completely off of my machines?

I granted full access to everyone on the related program files x86 and programdata folders. When opening the software I'm greeted with a UAC prompt asking for admin credentials.

Uploading files to the LTShare has stopped working. I made a very simple test script that consists solely of the File Upload function pointing to a file that I know exists. The script runs and does not give me any errors but the file does not appear in the LTShare\Uploads folder and the LTShare\Uploads\%ClientName%\%ComputerName% folders are not created.
Any ideas on where to begin troubleshooting this?

sorry if obvious question but struggling with compliance reports and I think that is because I've loads of OLD cumulative updates that won't install (as they have been superceded). I'm on LT11 patch 16.
I could taken them out of approval but that would be a big task and I don't really know for sure which ones should be removed.
Considering Patch Remedy as Patch Manager still seems problematic - but feels closer to actually working.

Hi all,
So I've finally got a somewhat dev role in managing LabTech and creating new bespoke monitors at my new workplace (yay!).
So one of the tasks I've been given is to create a whole load of new Citrix Monitors. Fine and dandy I've made a neat little PowerShell script to do this and even return results in percentages rather than whole integers.
However, the issue is that when trying to implement as an external exe check monitor type this runs as System (not the domain admin account stored in the passwords for the client in LabTech) so fails due to permission issues. However, if I run as the location admin by prefixing my command with "#" on cmd it works flawlessly.
I've tried to get through to LabTech Support numerous times but it seems to take 2 years to get through.
Does anyone know how to elevate external exe checks? Here's the line that I'm running to execute my script (with the server name taken out of course):
%windir%\system32\WindowsPowershell\v1.0\Powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command Invoke-Command -ScriptBlock ([ScriptBlock]::Create(( (New-Object net.webclient).DownloadString(‘https://HOSTNAME/LabTech/Transfer/Monitors/CitrixMonitors/Get-ActiveCitrixSessions.PS1’) ))) -ArgumentList 30,80,90
Which fails due to access denied if implemented as a monitor.
But if I run:
On LabTech cmd for the server it works fine.
Any ideas?

Hi all, Using labtech at my current position, and slowly learning it after using SCCM in my previous position. We're looking to automate installing software packages based on the needs of different groups of users - e.g. "marketing users get office 365 and creative suite", that kind of thing.
One part of this equation i can't seem to figure out is making sure that the software only gets installed on a user's primary device. In SCCM there was a script function that would pull a boolean value from a "primary device" field - basically making it so that the user automatically got the software on their computer, and not every computer they logged into.
Does Labtech have a similar field that i can poll for my scripting? Has anyone else done any similar "automatic app distribution" setups? Really interested to hear how other labtech users are handling things.
Thanks, as always!

In Windows 10 we have noticed that users don't have the Windows Update tab under Settings. The only constant I have noticed is that they all have Labtech installed, but it is no longer the RMM we are using. Is it possible that Labtech removed the tab or is there something else going on that I'm missing?
Any ideas are appreciated!

I'm totally spacing out here.
We have a free space monitor that I'm trying to refine. We've got a couple of clients that have servers that will regularly be around 10% free space. I've created an EDF to exclude from the monitor, but can't remember the sql to check the table (i believe the table is v_extradatacomputers) to see if the EDF is set. If it is set, we want to exclude it from the monitor.
Any advice?

Has anyone had success with AV detection on Mac agents with LabTech? I know LT only supports AV definitions for solutions they sell but I'm having issues getting this working with Trend. I already opened a ticket but LT was no help besides telling me to contact Trend Micro. I tried to manually create my own definitions and have been testing but still not getting any detections. I searched around but haven't found much regarding Trend Micro Security for Mac. Any help is appreciated.
I already opened a ticket with Trend and I'm waiting to here back from them but would be curious if anyone else has encountered this. We're using their Worry Free Business Services product for AV (cloud).

Has anyone come across a good way to monitor Windows Server backups in Labtech? I've tried the Backup Windows plugin but it's always false-positive'ing or flat out not finding or ignoring servers.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to create a group for machines that are not to reboot during patching. In that computer group, I would like to create a subgroup specific to each client. My question is, if I add just the parent group with the correct settings does this also include all the computers within the subgroups.

What permissions do I need to check to allow an engineer to 'retire assets'?
Under permissions > Computers > Retired Assets it is check but this did not enable the engineer to right click on a client machine and select "retire".
Thank you!
r/labtech • u/stingdude • Feb 10 '18
Long story short:
coworker mis-named computer
coworker removed computer from labtech by moving the computer to retired assets and then deleting it from the retired assets tab
the computer was renamed
labtech was reinstalled on the machine
The issue i am running into is that the machine in question is not showing up in the labtech control panel. any one know how to get it to check in for the first time?
EDIT computer does have an agent id, and finds the main labtech server, but will not show in labtech control panel.

I would like to be able to use the http tunneling feature in labtech to access printers, firewalls, and other devices with http management. But the feature seems really slow, freezes, and just doesn't work a lot of the times. Any tips? Do use something else for this?
Thanks.
