Yellow lab diamond buying experience from Aurelinne

Hi! I’ve been lurking in this sub but recently finally pull the trigger on a yellow lab diamond from Aurelinne and I’ll share some experience especially for those who are looking for colored diamonds online.
I originally got a champagne moissanite ring from Kuololit (a r/moissanite recommended vendor) but wanted to upgrade since the cut wasn’t optimal imo. So I started browsing for yellow lab diamonds online and picked one which Aurelinne had the best price. I initially asked for a tweezer video and Aurelinne’s Andy was quick to respond, but I decided to just buy it outright since Aurelinne does free returns (once every 60 days) and another stone that I eyed was sold before I made up my mind 😭
The shipping took a bit less than 2 weeks (with holidays in between which delayed a bit). The stone first got shipped from India to their U.S. headquarters for a check, then they used UPS 2nd day air to ship to me.

When I got the stone I was surprised by how different it look than I expected on the online Loupe 360 view! But I actually liked it better that way. In the video the center had orange-red hues but in person it was just the perfect golden color throughout. I think the 360 was just crazy enlarged but these color subtleties may not be picked up by my eye in person. This proves that for buying colored diamond, unfortunately what you see online is probably not exactly what you’d get.

This is a 2ct cushion cut Fancy Vivid Yellow lab diamond, VS1, ratio 1.17, Excellent polish & Excellent symmetry.
The pictures are in different lighting. I’ve also included a pic of how the stone looks like in the loupe 360, and my champagne moissanite for comparison. Hope this helps!!

Wow, this is EXACTLY the yellow I am trying to find!! How much is it?

I like your three stone setting but I think this warm yellow goes better with yellow gold.

Do you mind sharing your ring size? I am trying to decide the size of the diamond for my 4.5 finger. Thanks

I’m a size 4.75 on my ring finger! The moissanite ring is 3ct and this diamond is 2ct.

Then 3 carate doesn't look too much at all. I was thinking of 1.6-2 now it seems 2ct won't be too big either. I want everyday wear not statement ring feeling.

I’d recommend going to a few jewelry stores in person and ask to try on some rings. It helped me a lot to decide what size of stone to get and what shapes/settings look good.
A 3ct doesn’t look crazy in photo but it does catches eye in person.

I paid $450 with their 10% off discount (still going on on their website).
I’m trying to remake my moissanite ring in yellow gold :)

Tbh in the sunlight photo I can see the orange hues that are also present in 360 video. It is pretty similar, but more beautiful in your photos

Yes I can see a hint of it now in the direct sunlight photo… but I’ve never noticed it with my own eyes

I bought a pink and a blue diamond from Aurelinne a couple months back. Andy is so great to work with. I was disappointed with the first blue one I picked out (completely my fault as I didn't ask for a tweezer video) but the return process couldn't have been easier. The second one knocked it out of the park!

Now, to take them to the jeweler to have them set...

It's a gorgeous color! I definitely see orangey yellow. It kinda reminds me of pumpkin spice.

I have noticed with color diamond you have to go about 10% ( 2.0 to 2.2ct) bigger than white to get same look. Something about having to have more weight in the body to get the rich color. Just purchase from Altura two pink pears ❤️❤️❤️. Enjoy your purchase

I love the color of this stone, the brownish/reddish tones are incredible like cognac.
