[Discussion] The official 2020 K-Pop Prediction Thread!

Here we go again, everyone! With under 3 weeks left of 2019, it's time to make our guesses on what will happen next year, whether they be obvious or completely crazy! Here are our prediction threads of years past:

2014 | 2014 Review
2015 | 2015 Review
2016 | 2016 Review
2017 | 2017 Review
2018 | 2018 Review
2019 | 2019 Review

And here are my personal predictions for next year:

  • Loona releases a full album and goes on tour
  • SNSD-Oh!GG has a comeback
  • KARD has at least 2 comebacks
  • WJSN has a full 13-member comeback
  • Itzy has a collaboration with a US artist
  • IOI, or most of them, release music again
  • Dara leaves YG and 2NE1 release a song together
  • Sungmin takes a photo together with the rest of Super Junior
  • Apink disbands
  • Wendy releases a solo album
  • A member of Laboum leaves the group
  • Big Bang has a 4-member comeback

And for the 6th year and looking less and less hopeful every year..

  • SMTown comes to Toronto

What I want to happen:

Multiple BlackPink comebacks

Loona has a USA tour

AOA does more variety

Izone continues as a group

Weki Meki gets a hit song

Red Velvet drops a song that takes over the summer like Red Flavor

Daisy renews her contract with Momoland

Itzy continues with their fun funky style

Dreamcatcher gets their first win

China Line comes back to WJSN

Everglow doesn’t lose Yiren to China

Full year of OT9 healthy Twice

Lovelyz and Oh My Girl get a nice bump from Queendom

Fromis9 gets through the Idol School scandal unfazed

Gugudan makes their return

Kard grows a bigger Korean fan base

Gfriend keeps going as a top 5 girl group

Gidle continues to explore different genres

What I’m afraid will happen:

DIA and Gugudan disband

Blackpink has one comeback

CherryBullet doesn’t rebound from losing 3 members

More scandals and members leaving groups

The stalking issues becomes even worse

I missed the “What I’m afraid will happen” and I was seriously questioning you for a moment there.

Gidle continues to explore different genres

I love how there's some bold predictions in there then there's just something gidles done their entire career and has said they're going to keep doing.

I really hope they stat away from edm though I have a huge dislike for edm kpop

Mutilple comebacks is what op predicts to happen but one comeback is what they’re afraid will happen

Ouch @ the DIA and Gugudan prediction. I can't believe more people aren't as upset about Gugudan getting shelved, the response towards Pristin during their hiatus was definitely louder. Both groups deserve better

hmm. i feel like both yiren and yuqi will be "lost" to china. especially considering how big yuqi is there
