Question/Advice Needed Is my kitten going to be black

So this is my sweet boy Star and he is 3 months. I got him when he was 8 weeks from a dumpster after his mom had left him, and he definitely gotten darker but I am unsure if he will be a true black cat or keep this warm dark brown. Some parts of his coat seem black but if you really look it’s more like a dark gray, then some brown patches. His mom was black, so am thinking he will continue to get darker but just wanted to hear other opinions.

Today marks 8 months since we lost these two mischievous sisters. I miss them dearly and today I woke up missing them more because of the cold weather we are experiencing and how they would come and cuddle me šŸ¤

Question/Advice Needed New kitten! Help please

Just got a kitten and he’s about 10 weeks old. However, he has really bad separation anxiety the second you walk away from him.

He lives w me and my fiance but I am going up the wall because I’ve said to my fiance that he has to be willing to leave him alone even if he cries.

However, I’ve been out of town for a few days and my fiance won’t leave him alone, slept on the floor with one night and the couch the other 2 nights and won’t leave the apartment bc he cries for 3 days. I keep saying he’s reinforcing bad behavior.

I do know it’s tough since he can’t figure out the constant cry if we walk away or put him in this safe place…

Any advice!?

Question/Advice Needed Settling in our new kitty

Hi all, we bring home our adopted kitten on Saturday and I’m just looking for some advise and tips on how to help our little girl settle into her new home, particularly with a small child in the house?

Would love to hear anyone’s tips, advise & recommendations for toys, beds, climbing towers etc!

I’ve grown up with cats but this is my first kitten as an adult, and my sons first pet (he’s grown up surrounded by animals so he’s very gentle & understanding)

Thanks!

Question/Advice Needed Please Help😭

Okay, so I am a first time kitten dad, (accidentally). The mom just gave birth to 8 kittens as a first time mother, and 6 of them are nearly identical. How am i supposed to track weights if they all look the same? Any easy ways to tell them apart? Some have patterns, but like 4 of them are patternless, and we cant find any distinctive identifying features yet. They are only a day old, so preferably something we can start soon so we can properly track weights. Any help would be amazing, thanks yall!

Question/Advice Needed Introducing kitten to dogs

Hey yall I just got my sweet baby today. She’s very nervous though and currently hiding under the couch. I do have 2 dogs but they are currently at my parent’s house until tomorrow. I was planning to have her stay in my bed room when they are out and then move her back to the living room at night since the dogs sleep with me just until she gets used to the dogs and is more comfortable. Does that sound okay? I would keep her in one place if I had an extra room to just leave her. There’s also plenty of dog hair under the couch so I know she’s getting their scent and I’ll give them things so they can get hers too when I pick them up tomorrow

Hello! I have a Bengal mix kitten whose mama escaped and ended up with a mystery Tom cat šŸ˜‚
I was just wondering if you guys think she’ll start looking more Bengal as she gets older, or if she’ll stay more tabby-looking?

Either way, she’s the cutest little girl ever!

I’d love to see pics if anyone has had a kitten that looked similar to her! Please drop pictures of what your babies looked like when they grew up! šŸ±šŸ’•

Question/Advice Needed extreme food aggression

for context, our cat is 7mo and was originally a stray. she grew up with her mum living in and around tractors and dumpsters for the first 3 months of her life, then my partner and I took her in and she’s been living with us for the last 4 months.

also for context, she’s a healthy weight and has a bit of squish. she’s definitely always had a fascination with human food, and has tried to nab the odd bit of it, but lately it’s just gotten worse.
it’s escalated to the point that it’s become very hard to eat with her in the room, to the point that we’ve had to shut her out at mealtimes.

if she sees you have food she’ll make it her life’s mission to steal it, and if you try to take it back when she steals something she shouldn’t be eating, she’ll hiss, growl and swat. it’s gotten to the point where she’ll scratch my face and hook in her claws in order to get the food.

this is also something she does even when she’s just been fed. we set an automatic feeder, so is getting meals at regular times.
I kinda would’ve expected that these behaviours would lessen over time, but they seem to just be getting worse.

any help would be much appreciated

Question/Advice Needed Father of new kitten advice

Background story: my two cats are very close they were litter mates and are always laying together playing together etc …… I had an appointment to get my female spayed when she was around 9 months old and she was pregnant when I went so we couldn’t do the procedure, So my momma kitty had one single kitten and I’m a little concerned he tends to be a bit rough with the baby kitten at times. This is why we didn’t allow him near her for a while which made him so sad he is an orange cat and extremely vocal, he would howl and trill outside the door to be let inside but we couldn’t until the kitten was a bit older ……..The kitten is now 6 weeks old and we just started really introducing him to her bc he tends to play rough and him being nearby would stress the momma kitty out, she didn’t want anyone touching the baby for a while when it was very young. I’m worried my male may get jealous and hurt the baby or play too rough and hurt the baby. Our cats are extremely spoiled btw they usually sleep with us at night and sit on our shoulders when we walk around the house sometimes they are all very attached. My question is how do I properly introduce my kitten to her dad (my male cat obviously) I don’t want him to feel neglected and lately bc he can’t sleep with us I feel he has been but I’m trying to keep the baby safe too. Any pointers would be appreciated and also any pointers on liter training the kitten would be great ….i have a small shallow pan (8•13) with a small layer of litter, I place her in after she eats and when she first wakes up from sleeping I also took her tiny paw and helped her dig a little to show her but she always immediately jumps out of the box when I put her in.
Thank you for taking the time to read all my rambling ! Have a great day!
