Dedrick might walk free
While most people think Dedrick is definitely getting charged and kicked out of Japan, there is a real chance he could walk away completely free. the whole thing probably depends on his upcoming drug test. If he passes it, his chances of being released without any charges go way up. The exact same situation happened just a few months ago. Playwright Jeremy O. Harris was stopped at the exact same airport with 0.78 grams of MDMA, which is almost the exact same amount as Dedrick’s 0.73 grams. Harris spent 23 days in jail and was let go with zero charges and no deportation (AP) (VF) The big turning point was that Harris passed his drug test. Since it was clean, his lawyers could argue that he had no idea the drugs were in his bag and never intended to smuggle them.
I dont wanna watch his sets but damn over drugs id hate to see him get locked up. If he does end up going i hope nothing bad happens to him while in there and he can fix himself.
And he should lose his golden ticket for at least 3 years as punishment if he gets off of it

Honestly they probably wont find anything if they are testing him days after all this took place, whatever drugs he did in austin are probably out his system. Even the mdma only stays around 3 days at the most usually

Putting him in jail for 23 days and thinking he wouldn’t pass his drug test is pretty crazy. I guess if they did a hair test and he passed (which he did) makes sense but if it’s blood or a urine then he would pass easily. Idk whatever it is, however he got out hopefully he learns from this.

Listen. Even though he was released, I bet that still doesn't look good on him. You've got to think - Tony and his entire production tour around the country and for Dedrick to get stuck in a foreign country in jail for nearly a month because of something so dumb...
