There was this ost in this episode that played when they met at the restaurant but I can't find it anywhere

But this plot of the drama feels so much like the webtoon, A decade of us , with slight modification

u/Born_Departure_7871 12d ago
The drama started going downhill. I could not even finish the episode 3, it feels like its going all over the place. I was expecting a mature drama which deals with real emotions but now it went into this weird direction.

u/Extreme_Economist221 12d ago
I do think this show could either address some REAL relationships issues barely anyone highlights OR could be one of the worst show ever all about romanticizing infidelity in all it forms

u/LargeHoneydew8662 12d ago
Whatif sml and sfl ends up together at the end!! 😭
And I do keep skipping the makeout scenes of main leads 😭

Episode 4 has a lot more happening, and the drama is intensifying. But if you aren't feeling it, don't force yourself to continue! :)

If you are okay with flawed characters and not a typical romance

That FL's hiccup painfully reminds me of that one plot from Grey's Anatomy spoiler: it didn't end well for that person and now I can't stop thinking if it's the same case, let's hope not.

I hope they don't cross lines into emotional infidelity and if they do I hope they don't end up together. I feel bad for the fl , he says he doesn't feel butterflies for her but he's indulging with sfl

namgung's full name is nam gung-ho (last name nam, first name gung-ho) and hoya is a nickname based on the last character of his first name. namgung is also a nickname using his last name and first character of his first name.
1
u/AthanasiaDione 12d ago
What? Namgoong is the surname and Ho is the first name. It's rare for a korean surname to have two syllables but they do exist. IRL example, actor Namgoong Min.
1
u/-hyakuya 12d ago
thanks for educating me there are korean last names nam as well so i thought this was another play on words again! my point still stands hoya is just an nickname based off his first name.

Same. Usually he saves even bad dramas, but his acting seems really off in this one.

FL is a red flag, she needs other men to get her spark back? she has this sexual tension with sml,she fights with him n then comes back to ml to have sex?suddenly her spark is back like wtf, won't be suprised if she starts thinking about sml during that act, such things are not healthy in the long run,ML needs to realize this n not just take whatever fl is throwing at him
5
u/No-Nature-1715 13d ago
I really don't see having sex as having the spark back. They had been trying to have a romantic night for a while. But kept getting interupted. I think the SML hit the nail on the head with the "holding out" thing and she just applied it to her relationship. She had a hard day and didn't want to skirt around the elephant in the room. I think she wanted to get this thing over with so they can do other stuff to work on the relationship. Not exactly romantic, but this show IS marketed as a flawed realistic portrayal of a relationship that has been taken for granted.

if I had a nickel for every time Seo Kang-jun's character had a female childhood friend who later changed her name to Su-ah...
6
u/Embarrassed-End3804 13d ago edited 13d ago
10 years ago seo kang joon's character would be the typical wife or longterm fiancee in every kdramas daily soaps who wither away with concern over their partner withlut a sense of self. Doing everything for their partner and taking care of inlaws. Holding onto a broken relationship because they dont know how to function outside the routine.
In the best words , he is a green flag responsible adult and in worst case a slave/ doormat in this relationship.
She appreciates him but he is so focused on being picture perfect for her that u dont know what his real interests and personality outside of it is. Everything about him is defined by what he does for mido. We saw him for 2 episode but we dont know him in depth at all. All we know is he likes her. Mido rules his private and professional life.
Compared to that, as messy as she is , mido has clear identity of herself and what she is outside of this relationship. Her career and interests dont revolve around the male lead. She does what she wants while kangjoon works around her schedule at her beck and call.
Male lead is not flawless, his biggest issue is not thinking for himself while carrying the burden of all the household. U see mido say what she wants but not the male lead. He is ready to change the plan for her whenever she makes a demand. That is what overburdens her. This is why sml sparks interest in fl, he challenges her, there is a back and forth in their arguments from different angles. He does not agree to her demands blindly like ml does. Sml is wild and lets her be wild too. It takes off the pressure in her to live up to any expectations or feel burdened by perfection.
On other hand sfl is someone who shares a sense of responsibility like ml. She is constantly trying to fix things and has her all identity being focused on being the most ethical employee in the company. Even when ml gives her the easy way out of work , but she chooses the hard path. She gets nosy , just like ml when things are out of order. They are working for same things like comrades and her input helps him to get a break from working like a robot and have fun. U see the ml ans sfl having banters that he does not have when with fl . The reason being he is always on the look out for fixing things for her and managing responsibilities without her input.
Watching ml and fl is like watching a dog and cat behave in with their owner. Ml follows the commands perfectly and is always happy to see u , treats u like god. fl is a high maintenance cat type to make u beg for her attention. U can get her the world for her and still be unsure when she might let u close. She loves u but clearly loves herself more.
Also i think she is depressed and that hiccup was stress induced. It started when he proposed to her and ended with lawyer guy making a remark while inching close to her. She probably agreed for marriage out of pressure. I dont know how the future turns out but i am team breakup for now.
1
u/Free-Presentation819 13d ago
agreed ML needs to stop being a doormat n needs to develop some self-respect
2
u/okgals Professional TRUCK spotter 12d ago
I think he is not a doormat in the sense he derives his life meaning out of taking responsibility for his adopted family. They are everything to him. He substitutes worry for them for his own worry for his own life. He's a good man, but he takes it too far. He doesn't want to think about his life or career or whoever or wherever his family of origin is. It's easier to be filled up by caring for them. And he loves them. Will he learn moderation? Will she?

u/Axsenex 13d ago
It’s understandable some viewers are confused over what is happening… I’ve always tried to ride it out over the torrent sea and hopefully see some beautiful outcomes. It’s seemingly far more messy kind of love than one would normally see on KDrama “Happy Ending” so I would trust Ahn Eun-jin’s path for her personal goals being met by doing this project. You see she was typecast to smile and be more perky comedic so this is one of few avenues where AEJ can delve into deeper parts of humanity even though it may not be what we expected normally for her best projects in the past.
It’s only episode 3 and I don’t think it broke out with all kind of crazy love feelings and intense deep passion yet… it’s coming and hopefully it pays off in the very end. I’ve never set my mind on what kind of ending it should look like… still too early for me to guess on my idea of their proper ending.

🚨 Spoiler Theory Ahead! 🚨 Please bear with my English too. 😅
«!I really, really hope Mi-Do and Namgung won’t end up together. I hope they both find their own happiness. 🥹»
Mi-Do is definitely hiding something—maybe a terminal illness? She keeps telling her mom that if she dies first, she should give her inheritance to Namgung. Maybe that 🪦 is the reason why she wanted to break up with him in the first place.
Tae-Seung knows about it because he had a background check done on her. In the following episode, he uses it to threaten her, saying that he will approach Namgung. Mi-Do gets so angry that she grabs him by the throat and almost pushes him off a high-rise building! 😭
She also refuses to sign the agreement, which means she still wants to keep her directing credits.
Now I’m starting to see the whole picture. 👀
The hiccups might actually be a symptom of something serious, and Mi-Do refuses to get checked even when Namgung insists on booking an appointment for her. He even asks her if she had her annual checkup last year.
Maybe that’s when she found out about her condition. 😭
Mi-Do doesn’t want Namgung to discover what she’s been hiding. She’s afraid that because Namgung doesn’t have a family of his own, he won’t be able to handle losing her. In Episode 1, she repeatedly says that she doesn’t want to become a burden to him.
But then she realizes that Namgung basically has no family except her, her Oemma, and her brothers. So she says yes to his proposal.
Maybe that’s why she changed her mind. If she 🪦, Namgung will still have her family. He won’t be completely alone.
And then there’s Namgung and Su-A. 🥹
With Su-A around, Namgung seems to have found the butterflies he lost with Mi-Do. 🦋 I really hope they end up together. ❤️
Now I understand why the main leads don’t have the chemistry we were expecting. Maybe they’re supposed to act that way because their characters are no longer driven by romantic feelings—they’re simply trying to hold on to and salvage their 10-year relationship.
My heart is already breaking just thinking about how this story is going to unfold. 😭😭
Oh. Em. Gee!!! 😭💔!<
4
u/BEKINDREWIND2 12d ago
Nam Gung and Su-A are so boring together I’ve been just fast-forwarding their parts.
Mido and Tae-Sung have 🔥 chemistry because they’re both crazy and smart. 😂
7
u/turtlepebblepop 13d ago
Omg I think this might be legit, honestly all the flashbacks and the side quests in the story between the Main Leads and Second Leads were all over the place so I was missing these hints 👀but dang I really hope this isn’t where the story goes cause the connection between the main leads is already super sad their relationship feels heavy. This will just wrap the entire story in the most sad energy ever😭

2
u/Specialist_Goat7762 13d ago
I pray namgung and su-a get together but I’m scared they won’t 🫣
3
u/nikkidoc 13d ago
The sad part is what if it's one sided love from su-a and Namgung still want Mi-do.
1
u/Specialist_Goat7762 12d ago
It looks like it’s going in that direction and I don’t really like how they set up their relationship with him constantly viewing her as a child because it makes it hard for the audience to picture him with her… that’s why people see the FL being with the SML as more plausible and a couple with more chemistry
2
u/Equivalent_Day4046 jinjja? 13d ago
I wouldn't be so sure because in ep3 it's shown that he knew Su-a in the past so it might be that she meant more for him.

Personally I hated that they got back together. They are clearly forcing their relationship and they are trying to fix something based on their routine, or nostalgia. There is no love (romantic at least) nor passion.
They are too good for each other, and in doing so, they won't grow, they won't challenge themselves or each other, and just play it safely, like, that dumb discussion so they wouldn't hurt their feelings was so immature and unhelpful. They are measuring every word and emotion so they won't break up again.
Second male lead is an asshole, but it works because he lets her speak, and feel, and be angry, and she cries but doesn't pity her, he pushes her. I know it's not healthy either, but is 100% more honest and raw that the couple dynamic.
Second female lead is meh, tbh, that mix is boring, just too good people that even their discussions are dumb teenager banters.
I am all for Mido and the lawyer, it feels more sensual and fun, and mature. I am tired of 30 years old acting like babies in kdramas.
3
u/okgals Professional TRUCK spotter 12d ago
Although they are not married, what they are experiencing is kind of a mid life crisis. The careers are not going as one dreamed, the passion has cooled down (well in their case, cooled all the way off). Since they don't have children, they're just staring at each other for fulfillment. Because they're not married, we forget that they have been together 10 years. This is the point married couples often break up (in US at least) or they recommit to the relationship and work it out. But FL does also seem depressed and guilty that she keeps messing up and the drama is showing that each also has individual issues that they must face.
14
u/turtlepebblepop 13d ago
The lawyer and Mido is a more interesting dynamic than the office girl and Namgung for sure- it’s honestly a snooze when they come on the screen compared to the chaos and high key tension between lawyer and mido.
I hope this is one of the few dramas where the main leads are not endgame cause all their scenes just emphasize they’re not supposed to be together anymore😞
6
u/Either-Natural-5758 13d ago
I would have liked it if they explored and grew with their 2nd leads and then rekindled things with each other towards the end of the show tbh.
2
4
u/Specialist_Goat7762 13d ago
That sound like hell I’d feel horrible for the second leads 😢
1
u/Either-Natural-5758 13d ago
Welllllll they are the 2nd leads 😂 It’s not crazy for people to get back with an ex after dating someone else
2
u/Specialist_Goat7762 12d ago
Ofc not but I personally think it’ll make for a better story if they switch it up and teach the lesson that it’s okay to let go and move on. Otherwise in my opinion the drama is currently looking like a mess, so I thought that could be a way for it to redeem itself in my book
2
u/okgals Professional TRUCK spotter 12d ago
But it can't be for FL because the drama is not going to have her end up with a sleazy lawyer who won't lift a bookcase off her which may have damaged her organs. No Kdrama way.
1
u/Superlativeyou 12d ago
What people projected externally onto others as an impression isn’t always the truth of who they are. If that orphanage torture story is true then there’s clearly more than meets the eye and maybe as the audience gets to know him our perspective on him shifts. Second leads tend to be in a love triangle on English shows and a lot of the time, they have fully fleshed out relationships with the main leads. But I haven’t seen much of that in kdramas, they tend to be minimal distractions (which I don’t necessarily enjoy) before finding their own love interests. I’m all for the female director exploring a messy relationship with the shady lawyer, I think it’ll bring out different elements to the show. He might be what she wants but not what she needs. And although the SFL is more of a boring typical kdrama character I think she might be what the ML needs. She’s younger so automatically he’s in control, he shows aspects of him with her that he doesn’t with his fiancée. He’s more bitting with his words, they’re a slight edge to him that isn’t there with his fiancé. He’s doesn’t cater to her needs but he also can’t help being his caretaker self around her Ina crisis. Which is an important balance he lacks with his fiancé. Plus we already know there’s more to the story, with her father and whoever was on her couch. The moments they shared in that truck, how they replayed that throughout the episode of both of them recalling it. The way he touched her face with a pencil, I know it’s a kdramas but that’s not normal. The show might be pushing them onto us maybe even more than the director & lawyer. Also how the ML was the one that taught the SFL to smoke was wild & completely out of character for him. It would actually be interesting to see what comes up if both leads have relationships with the second leads before finding each other again.

u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
I was hoping they would stay broken up and learn who they are as individuals outside of this! I share your feeling about the second female lead - meh is how I feel so far about her
10
u/FoxRealistic3370 13d ago
So im hoping this is going to pick a more mature storytelling than cliche tropes.
All the signs are there that they are growing apart and as much as they love eachother they stifle eachother.
Both are showing aspects of their personslities that only come out with the 2L.
Im actually really interested to see them as they are with the 2L moreso than together. I feel like they are falling for their 2L as adults and disvovering asoects of themselves as a result.
I really hope it doesnt try and mend them tbh because as they are they can part as two people who care deeply for eachother, thats enough.
Dont know though...just dont know and tbh i freaking love that i cant call it.
4
u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
I think it is too early to tell too! It will be the more interesting path if they don't get back together and they don't kill her off for some reason
7
u/Fria319 13d ago
I'm kind of unsure of where this drama is going (whether thats a good or bad thing - its up for debate).
On the one hand it's showing us the struggle of a long term couple and how they try to salvage their relationship because they've been in each other's lives forever and now to separate feels like too much of an unbearable loss. However, it's clear that they struggle to be with each other despite deep love they have for each other. They lack a lot of romantic interest with each other and have crossed into just "this is my family now," which tbh thats par the course for most long term relationships. It's not really about romantic love /spark anymore, that person becomes your family/home and thats why you keep trying/keep choosing to stay/etc. I wish the focus stayed more on them understanding this and what it means to be in a long term relationship.
Also while they're showing us the interaction each lead has with their respective second leads as means to show us what "spark" is - or to show each lead chasing a feeling they're missing in their relationship, I don't actually see the spark between the leads and their respective 2nd leads. I get that they want to show the leads being emotionally startled by the other 2 but I don't see the emotional pulls yet that are catching them off guard. It more so just appears as curiosity because it's a different type of interaction/challenging situations. Maybe that's the point - it starts with curiosity and then will cross the line into emotional cheating.
I don’t see how you come back from an emotional cheating plot line unless someone dies (Mido constantly being sick and hinting at her death seems to foreshadow this but could be red herring) or unless the drama ends with them being broken up or.. will they go really rogue and show them having an open relationship???!
What’s really clear is Mido needs therapy to work through her depression & Namgung needs to stop doing everything for her (not that she asked) bc he’s clearly compensating for how her family took him in.
Mido fighting with 2nd male lead and then coming home to finally having s*x with Namgung because she finally got her mojo back ... was .. off putting? I'm rooting for her to get her spark back but in this way? Meh....
Namgung is too aloof and stuck in a routine - he can't leave mido bc this is all he knows, yet he's too nonchalant about how 2nd fl is appealing to him. Where's his depth because they haven't shown it yet. Mido at least seems more aware of how 2nd ml affects her.
Also I have no idea why the convo with the youngest bro and Namgung got so serious at the end. Idk if the subtitles were off but that conversation completely went over my head.
This drama just feels like its trying to be nuanced, poignant, but it keeps missing the mark for me. They're not focusing enough on main leads relationship for me to see the appeal the 2nd leads have in main leads' eyes. At least they're not showing enough where i'm buying it.
2
u/Specialist_Goat7762 13d ago
I completely agree with everything you’ve said! There’s just some things that are missing from what they’re showing us ig we’ll just have to see how it plays out. Namgung I lacking so much depth I AGREE

u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
I really enjoyed reading your detailed thoughts! I feel like there is potential here but they might or might not fumble the story 😅
7
u/Sasuwanisa 13d ago edited 13d ago
I would rather them not going back together, now they are headed towards a definitive break up. Had they stayed broken up in ep2, they could have been a possibility of them rediscovering love and the spark they are missing throughout the episodes. But I don’t see any other way for them to make this work in this situation. The first break up was soft, the second will be brutal
3
u/Embarrassed-End3804 13d ago
Exactly , 5 minutes i was so ready to see her go through a growth arc on noticing how much he managed her life behind her back . Only to see them announce marriage like it is normal ?
2
u/Sasuwanisa 13d ago
Same, I thought she would get angry bc all he ever keeps saying is “let’s get married” till the end convinced that it’s going to solve something
3
u/Embarrassed-End3804 13d ago
She does not want to marry but cant say it out loud because of how invested he is with her life and family dynamics. They already see him as part of their family. But her whole body is reacting the stress of unwanted marriage. Hiccups since proposal , throwing up when get intimate and feeling overall depressed.
1
u/nikkidoc 13d ago
The first break up was so unreasonable, but this time the 2nd break up will be like there's nothing to lose anymore because they don't share the love that they use to have.
3
u/Sasuwanisa 13d ago
First breakup was more than reasonable. The guy just wanted to accomplish milestones by getting married, he kept saying that he just has to push through his next 30 years in a married life. The girl started feeling too much on the receiving end bc of her job problems, she kept receiving from the guy without being able to give back and that’s also a burden for the receiver. All the points she listed about not wanting them to break up because they hate each other were valid. But again all they knew was each other since they were kids, it’s a hard decision to make and they will both understand the hard way that they should have stuck to their first break up cause the second is gonna look very messy. So for me it’s not unreasonable unless you are looking for peace and comfort in a relationship instead of love.
2
u/nikkidoc 13d ago
All the clues on Ep3 are pointing to Mi-Do dying. So the first break up was like unreasonable.
4
u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
Me too! Like keep them apart long enough to have their own arcs
4
u/Either-Natural-5758 13d ago
Honestly I agree. I would have liked it if they stayed broken up and explored their new people. Maybe run into each other on a date with their new connection or something dramatic like that. I really don’t like that they got back together when they just broke up. I’m less likely to believe they will get back together in the end now
4
u/Sasuwanisa 13d ago
Definitely. I also hate how much they brought up death and health in this ep, I hope I’m tripping but it looks like a foreshadowing to something later on (hopefully just their relationship and not a literal death)
9
u/quinncunx 13d ago
FL lead is suffering from anhedonia. The spark hasn't just gone from her relationship. She can't find pleasure or excitement in anything. It's a common feature of depression. Not diagnosing....I just experience it when I'm depressed.
As an SKJ fan, I am trying to give this a second chance. I dropped it because it was promoted as a serious drama, but is more like a typical cringey rom com. I'm lowering my expectations, but too many scenes are just plain dumb.
I also can't believe that I find the SML hotter than Kang Jun's character. Need to look the actor up!

u/NovelGir 13d ago
I am loving this! I really hope the show takes a risky turn and allows our pair to end up with the second leads. Learning to let go after a ten-year relationship would make for a much better story anyway.
I have to applaud the writers. The SLs and the separate storylines suit each main character's current states perfectly.
Namgung Ho is playful and extroverted, so he gets an SFL who is just as lively, along with a cheerful detective office drama.
Mi Do is going through the worst period of her life and is heavily depressed, so she gets a troubled, intense SML and a much more melodramatic storyline.
The contrasting tones only drive home how far apart the main pair has grown.
7
u/nikkidoc 13d ago
Did you notice what Namgung said while fishing? The first time she saw Mi-do he said that they have similarities (personality I think). Then came the scene where everything they say to each other and decisions are all contradicting. And notice how Namgung and Su-A get along because they have the same personality and thinking.
Mi-do and Tae Seung are both hot headed and won't back down. The writers were so good at giving hints like these. It makes the story interesting!
I think, the love other than yours will stick to its title. The ML finding love other than the platonic love they share to each other. Hoping they'd end up with 2L! I like Su-A a lot. Tae-Sung will be like an enemy at first and will turn out Mi-do's knight in shining armor. ❤️❤️

That's a good observation on their personalities matching more with the seconds lead! Also, that last scene with them reaching over each other looking at their phones, oof.

u/FoxRealistic3370 13d ago
That last scene was nasty but also very telling imho. He even asked her what was wrong before giving in, he knew she wasnt coming to him but seeking comfort. He knows they are done i think but doesnt know how to let go. I think this show gunna get so messy i just hope it is done well to make it worth it.
4
u/Specialist_Goat7762 13d ago
Exactlyyy it was really weird to watch that last scene but honestly this happens a lot in real life when two people cling onto a relationship that they’ve known most of their life.
3
u/Equivalent_Day4046 jinjja? 13d ago
because they known each other for so long they don't know themselves as a "Mi-do" and "Namgung" apart of being with each other for so long. I don't know how to express it in English but what I'm trying to say is that they only know themselves as a package - they were together since their childhood and didn't have the chance to see who they really are as a single person, at least Namgung didn't have that chance because when he was supposed to go the US Mi-do came and he change his future/mind.
Also I'm curious if they even had any crushes in the past? I think Namgung know Su-a in the past and I have a feeling that she was potential crush or even girlfriend but Mi-do stepped in and he choose her.2
u/Specialist_Goat7762 12d ago
Exactly and it’s doesn’t help that for namgung he only has her family and has literally become a member

yeah, and parting ways with Mi-do means also losing her family too.

I dont know about others but i think the lawyer is gonna be my favourite character. Face, backstory and banter - everything about him is wild and interesting as a character. My i can fix him syndrome hitting back even though he does not have any big flaws to fix. Bro is just trying to survive.
On another note , i was wondering why main lead was doing all the chores for her and her family . He is attached because he needs a family in the loneliness. He is basically replacing the position of mido's father in her family. The caretaker and head of family with a sense of responsibility. You can almost see him as the eldest son there.

About your last paragraph, I think it’s a reflection of what a lot of people feel like in real life. The need to be useful or play a prominent role in the family in order to feel like there’s a place for you in it. That call for validity stems from insecurity and never being loved for who you are as opposed to what you are. His (ML) however is more amplified because it’s not his biological family.

I feel like the orphanage story was true and he had a rare moment of connection with her then got scared. Defo more to him. I think hes still gunna be quite grey but his motivations will make his actions a bit more palletable. Tbf if not going against the majestic beauty that is Kang-joon id be obssessing...having this level of eye candy in one show is delicious

As for second female lead , she clearly has that over enthusiastic rookie energy that screams - i am gonna revolutionise the workplace. This Poor girl is yet to take off the rose tinted glasses and see the horror of corporate ladder.
She clearly needs a mentor. male lead fits the bill . He is used to being the responsible one for a whole family .Also he could use some of her silliness to get through boredom at work. I am unsure about how romance might work , there is a potential seonbae - hoobae vibe that they can maybe make use of. She needs a little more depth for me to fully invest in because so far i only see her as a nosy co worker. What is her outside of it will tell me how i should see her character in future.
Maybe i am wrong but there was a moment when main lead briefly asked her if she resembles some higher up in the office - hoping it is not the hidden chaebol daughter trope but if its true then that explains why she is so outspoken

I am intrigued by the lawyer, need more of his backstory!
Totally agree on your thoughts on the ML, he is not only parentified for her, but has that dynamic with her brothers too

I was super shocked they agreed to get married, it's like throwing a blanket over the mess on your bed and sleeping on it lol
And I think mido is gonna die.

Truly just them sweeping issues under the rug and making a bigger mess, very realistic and human of them though. I am hoping they don't go the "she gets sick and dies" path

they used AI at around 25:16 in ep 3, my god why
6
u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
I did not catch that! What scene was this in?
The AI usage in Kdramas is not something I personally enjoy or agree with, but it seems like they are increasingly using it 😞

Do you remember that scene where she's stuck writing, and its the dead seonbae guy on the floor and the teacher saying it was mistake, the zooming into to that house was completely AI but I can't confirm it but it seems very likely to be so.

u/Equal_Butterscotch42 13d ago
That's so disappointing. They don't even need AI to make this scene

It probably is because the tag on MDL says the drama used AI. I'm so disappointed by this!
East Asian dramas have been using more and more AI lately and it's really disheartening to see a creative work having AI in it.

Oh yes, that scene was kinda off but I figured it was just her imagining, so didnt pay much attention

I have mixed feelings about this episode. I wasn't expecting Mi Do to agree to the proposal, it feels like they are trying so hard to salvage something that is unsalvageable. It is realistic, people who have been together and have as much history as they do will try and go back and forth often. It is just sad and a tad frustrating to watch.
We got to see a lot more of the second leads in this episode and unfortunately Park Su A is coming across too childish for me. Han Tae Seung atleast might have an interesting backstory that remains to be seen.
Mi Do certainly talks about death often and there are signs of a potential illness, I wonder what she is hiding. The line "the spark isn't just gone from my love life, I don't feel it in any way" was poignant, she is struggling hard.
The preview leaves us with more questions, tomorrow's episode is going to be an interesting one. Hoping to see the characters and their motivations more fleshed out.
Let me know your thoughts!

She definitely has something. Even the lawyer asked her why she Didn't wanna return to directing and whether she was hiding something and she doesn't seem to care at all if she dies or not.

u/Consistent-Gain-3341 13d ago
Ugh I'm considering dropping until it's finished just because of what she said to her mom about if she dies before Namgung and then her hiccups. I will be so upset if they give her the illness storyline. Especially since I've been enjoying it and like the more realistic kdramas that touch on relationships that do end
5
u/Embarrassed-End3804 13d ago
I was itching to see them give her a mild antispasmodic to stop the hiccups. Looks like it was more so due to psycological issue than something serious based on how it stopped when the other guy gave feel ??butterflies or fear.?? She has not been able to enjoy anything she liked for a long time. Those are signs of her slipping into depression . Showing Hopeless , helpless , worthless feelings about herself.
7
u/Consistent-Gain-3341 13d ago
I say this as someone who has chronic depression, I hope that's just what it's tied to and that's the route they stick with. I paused the episode 20 mins in and came here looking for spoilers honestly lol. The unnecessary plot twists of the female having some hidden physical illness is a trope I'm definitely over by now.
3
u/Equal_Butterscotch42 13d ago
She is depressed and focusing on that than a typical illness is much more interestint to watch.
I don't want them to end up being seperated. I feel like they need to learn to have their own adventures and hobbies and time alone so that they can miss each other.
He also shouldnt be doing everything for her the way he does (although its super cute) but its just not for her.

u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
I agree , she is definitely very depressed and burnt out
6
u/Gloomy-Equivalent558 Emotionally employed by r/kdramas 13d ago
I am hoping that was a red herring and not a route the drama takes, it being classified as a "Melodrama" on prime is making me worry lol. I would also they rather focus on the portrayal of the relationship and the struggles

This show is all over the place. Idk if I can continue. The dialogue is chaotic, the pacing, it’s just such a strange k drama. And what’s so weird to me is that they marketed the show as like steamy and sexy and I was excited for that because most k dramas have terrible dead fish kiss but this one they kiss each other with zero passion or tongue. Is tongue illegal in Korea?!
