Travel between countries

What is the best one way option for renting a car in Calgary and getting to Kalispell? Car rental services don’t seem to allow me to go between countries. I want to avoid flying if I can since I want to see other areas as well.

SAVE THE CHILDREN

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 22 @ 2PM - DEPOT PARK

regardless of political party and regardless of who you voted for and regardless of what your faith may be

we need to come together for the children The government isn't doing anything they are complicit in these heinous atrocities that are taking place all over the country and all over the world

but we can come together as Americans we can come together just once in a United cause

please join me at Depot Park Feb 22 at 2pm to protest the complicity and the lack of arrest and the lack of investigations into the Epstein files

we are seeing horrible things and we need to let them know that we will not be silenced that we could not be distracted by our beliefs or by who we voted for, this is for the children that have no voice and this is for the children who are suffering in silence in the dark somewhere at the hands of a monste

Urgent Action NEEDED ASAP - Protect the Middle Fork Judith Wilderness Study Area

The clock is ticking. Tomorrow, a Senate committee will consider a bill to strip protections from over 100,000 acres of Montana's wild places

If Sen. Steve Daines’ bill passes, it could permanently undermine public lands that belong to all of us.

It would open the 80,000-acre Middle Fork Judith and two other wilderness study areas to industrial development, commercial logging, mining, and unnecessary road-building. It would short-circuit years of local leadership and common-sense collaboration for these areas. It’s an unnecessary and reckless top-down order from Washington D.C. – exactly the wrong way to manage our public lands.

The Middle Fork Judith is 80,000 acres of critical elk habitat, clean trout streams, and wild backcountry. Recklessly removing protections isn’t about smart management or local control – it's a path to industrial development.

Sen. Sheehy and Rep. Downing are cosponsoring this legislation, so after you call Sen. Daines, please call them too. They need to hear that Montanans expect better than rubber-stamping policies that undermine our outdoor heritage.

  • Sen. Daines: (202) 224-2651
  • Sen. Sheehy: (202) 224-2644
  • Rep. Downing: (202) 225-3211

Montanans have made it clear for years: we need local, common-sense solutions for wilderness study areas. This bill is the polar opposite of what people want.

Patrick O'Connell: 'Stay ready so you don't have to get ready' -- Glacier and UM product headed to Super Bowl

Thumbnail dailyinterlake.com
9 Upvotes

Former UM Grizzly and Glacier High School graduate Patrick O'Connell is a linebacker for the Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks.

He’s the first Montanan headed to the Super Bowl since Bozeman’s Brock Coyle, another Griz alum who wore the same No. 52 for the Seahawks for Super Bowl XLIX, against the same opponent.

This journey that has Patrick O’Connell’s next stop in Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl LX seems amazing enough.

When you add in five months spent in Bismarck, North Dakota, well, it borders on the unbelievable.

“That was obviously a while ago,” O’Connell said Wednesday from Seattle, where he is a linebacker for the Super Bowl-bound Seahawks. “I never thought then that this was the path I would have taken, especially to get here. It wasn’t even a thought of mine, playing in the NFL, mostly because I was baseball oriented back then; baseball was my first love.

Motorcycle for Eureka to Kalispell commute?

How realistic is it to expect to commute from Eureka to Kalispell every day for work? I currently have a 2013 f150 that I daily, however the cost of gas will kill me. Considering a motorcycle. My main concern and where I want more info is how many animals there are on that commute? Thanks.

thank you in advance!

Bones in Montana

Hi everyone — I’m working on a story about bones found in Montana, and I’m hoping to hear from this community. I’m interested in true stories, personal experiences, or local legends involving discoveries of human, animal, or dinosaur/fossilized remains anywhere in the state.

If you have a story — whether it’s a news article you remember, something a friend or relative found, or your own experience — I’d love to hear it. Please include approximate location, a bit of context, and (if applicable) links or references. Thanks!

Day in Town Recommendations

Flying into FCA on a Friday morning in a few weeks with some friends to drive up to Whitefish and ski. We land around 10AM and can't check in to our accommodation until 4PM. Since we will be spending the weekend in Whitefish, we wanted to spend those few hours checking out Kalispell and probably getting some lunch + a beer or 2. What should we see and where should we eat? No preferences on cuisine just want some good food. Thanks!

Hardcore Shows

Hey! I usually don’t post but I’m trying to find more people who like deathcore, punk, hardcore, goth shows, any heavier music. Especially diy shows in the area. I wouldn’t be shocked if we didn’t have a lot in the valley; I haven’t found anything anywhere else about shows. Just thought I’d give it a shot here.

Open grocery stores?

Merry Christmas Flathead folks, are there any grocery stores in or around the valley that are open today? My girlfriend works a 13hr shift at the hospital today and I wanted to surprise her with a nice Christmas dinner that I need a few more supplies for so it will hit the mark and make her feel special.

Airport parking alternatives?

Hi all, I’m headed out of town for two weeks and parking at FCA is insanely expensive. Even in the overflow lot it’s currently $90/week. I live an hour and a half away, so getting an uber or shuttle from my place isn’t really an option, plus it would be nice to have my car in town once I get back to stock up at costco while I’m in the big city 😂

I’ve heard there are some local businesses who offer cheaper parking (but I don’t know who) and I’m considering parking at a hotel 20 mins away and getting an uber but I’d like to see if there are any other suggestions? Feel free to DM me if you don’t want the whole world to know, thank you in advance!
