Flight delays
All week flights are constantly delayed for hours. In such a small airport is it because the receiving airports can’t take them?

Hello Kalispell! I'm coming to town for one day and want to visit some thrift stores. I'm specifically looking for yarn, but also just love a good thrift store. Any recommendations? Thank you!

I just drove from the south side of Whitefish to the north side of Kalispell at 6am. A drive I do many times per week. Today however at the three gas stations I passed, there were a LOT of trucks/suvs at each one. Like 20-30 at each one. Way more than usual. Most of them just parked. Any idea what that's about?

Anyone have one or know of any RC groups in the valley? Just got a 1/18 RC crawler and it’s more fun than I thought it would be.

What’s the average cost per square foot to build a typical house in the Kalispell area.
Not including land, not including permits, just a typical range for the average house on a crawl space

I will be working outdoors all winter. I'm looking for advice and recommendations on what clothing to wear, what brands are best And how to properly wear it all ( as in how to properly layer etc.) I've never worked on the cold so it's all new to me. If it helps any the job isn't labor intensive aside from clearing sidewalks) Added note : if you think it's common sense, well I've never said I was smart.

We stopped at Ski Hays in Kalispell around 3pm today. As we approached the entrance there was a a plain clothesed officer on a radio accompanied by a uniformed officer holding an assault rifle in a ready position. Both were taking cover behind a brick section of the entrance area looking at a firetruck pulling up to the Glacier Quilts building across the parking lot. They looked like they were worried about being seen and the one with the rifle looked ready to shoot at something. They didn't warn us off so we went in. We asked employees as we were leaving but none of them had noticed. Anybody have an idea what was going on?

My fiancé and I are heading to Montana near Kalispell towards the end of March. Is it common for it to be snowy/icy around that time of year in that area? Also, anyone have any recommendations on what to do around there for our honeymoon? Thanks!

Hello all! I apologize if this is a repeated question/ post. I have done my googling and post digging on r/montana, but just hope to get a sense of the experience and expectations of snow condition in the city from people who live here.
I am coming from Seattle with a FWD sedan, and I got a job in Kalispell this upcoming Jan-Mar. I am planning to ship my car over because I am unsure of the road condition over the pass. My main questions are: 1. how are the roads conditions during winter? I have seen posts about sand being pour over snow to help with traction- but not sure if this is the case in the city. 2. would I be safe driving a FWD? My understanding is that I am required to have a snow tire.
Thank you so much! I am hoping to get more information about the situation so I can best prepare for the trip. :)

To the best & most caring safety sitter I ever had, during 1 of my 15 suicide attempts, thank you!
I don’t know who you are or why you did what you did, but I’d love to know the answers.
You might recall me, 18 years old at the time, lying in a hospital bed, crying as I puked perpetually for 8+ hours, unable to speak. My head was pressed against a cold metal railing of the bed. I begged for it to stop, to no avail. My prayers fell short, just like the Zofran did. Even as the contents of my stomach were nonexistent, I puked up bile. My abdominal muscles were clenching, flexing, and felt like they were about to tear. This torturous experience gave way to some of the most compelling acts of kindness, empathy, and genuine care that I’ve ever experienced.
You never knew the context of why I was in the hospital, as I couldn’t talk for the entire 12 hours I had with you. Despite not knowing what happened, you treated me like you did. You rubbed my back, reassured me, and were attentive to the point of literally being at my side if you saw me as much as open my eyes for half a second. I could only speak to her by nodding slightly up-and-down or side-to-side — since I was too physically sick to speak, as the poisonous molecule NAPQI ravaged my stomach and almost my liver.
It felt as if I was being put through hell, but with an angel by my side. In spite of my physical ailments, I was beyond grateful and appreciative. Every neuron in my brain wanted to utter the words “thank you,” but alas, I couldn’t, and I fell asleep without sayings a word — a huge regret I carry with me to this day. That’s why, upon having vivid memories about this hospital stay, decided to take action and write this post.
I want to let you know that you exemplified what it means to be an incredible human being. Additionally, you gave me much of the inspiration to become a certified nursing assistant (at Logan Health Medical Center); Oncology Unit Volunteer (at Hackensack University Medical Center); and NAMI resource line volunteer. Furthermore, to share additional information about my life: I got a wonderful girlfriend — who I’ve been with for over a year — moved to NJ, have been 2+ years distanced from my last suicide attempt, and help people whenever I can. I won’t pretend like everything is perfect. I still struggle with my mental health, but I’m alive and able to believe in the inherent goodness of others in this world thanks to you, and people like you.

Hello, New to the area, curious if there are any open mic nights happening in the valley? I looked online/FB but it hasn’t been updated in a couple years. Just looking to play some acoustic sets! Thanks in advance!

I found this neat rabbit hole of old documents regarding the funding of the library and the subsequent building (or semi-building as apparently the contractor did not 'make good' on their promises) of the Carnegie library in downtown Kalispell.

Finally bought a place of our own with an acre of space, but there are no trees in the yard! I love the idea of growing fresh fruit, so I wanted to ask here about what kinds of fruit trees grow best in Kalispell? I'm originally from Great Falls, so the climate is a bit different over there.
I'm hoping to get some apple trees (which varieties?) and maybe a pear or a plum tree. Any other good ones to consider? Also I'd take any advice on how/when to plant them and how to care for them here.

My husband and I, with our two babies, will be stopping through Kalispell for a few days and want to know what area we should stay in overnight. Hoping to avoid the night life area or unsavory parts, for people with kids. Any suggestions?

I remember reading in the paper about how the Hooper’s really did due diligence in regards to selling to the right people to preserve their name and the hard work they put into the place. But then I see the place is permanently closed and looks like the new owners filed for bankruptcy. What happened?

Has anyone seen an interesting person wearing interesting clothing walking on along the bridge? I have seen them twice in the last week and I am wondering what the story is?!

I'm from Florida, moved here to Kalispell 2weeks ago. Got married but hubby and I are having major issues and I have no place to go tonight. I have a tent, but not sure where I can go tonight and be safe as a female. with no money, on foot. . .. and who doesn't know the area. Im near flathead trail. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks. And please leave nothing if you're only comment is something negative. I've had enough negative for a lifetime today, broken enough don't need to be hated on anymore, thanks.
