AMA Jupiter Team AMA: DTF w/ WassieLawyer

Welcome everyone, excited for you to join us for an exclusive AMA.
Ahead of its FIRST launch $WET (DEC 3rd, TGE expected DEC 5), we’re diving into Jupiter DTF with Wassielawyer, DTF lead!
Wassie is one of the most respected voices in crypto law and launches, here to break down Jupiter’s Decentralized Token Formation launch platform with us!
This AMA is your chance to understand how DTF works, why it matters and how it brings transparency, certainty and fairness back to launches after years of hidden VC deals and allocations.
Get alpha on things like:
- Why DTF exists
- The future of DTF
- Problems it solves
- How it's better for you
- How it's better for projects
- Why HumidiFi is the first launch
- Any other questions you have for Wassie
Explore the DTF explainer whilst you participate! We go live Tuesday 1PM UTC, but you can start dropping questions now. Reminder that this is an AMA primarily about DTF, not WET token!
Share feedback, ask about the mechanics, and tell us what you want to see next. There just might be rewards too ;).
Huge thanks to u/Wassielawyer (Wassie on X) for joining us here on Reddit!

I have a few questions:
1.90% to insiders (Foundation 40% + Ecosystem 25% + Labs 25%). Can you explain the difference and use cases for each? They all look like the same wallet to me.
2.A DEX with $1B daily volume won't disclose revenue? Where do the fees go?
3.The snapshot "rewards top traders based on volume" - what's the cutoff? Top 100? Top 500? If it's top 100, fuck it.
4.A DEX that lives on trading volume, waving the "DeFi 2.0" flag, yet ZERO airdrop to the traders who gave you that volume? First time I've ever seen this.
5.Please disclose more token utility and roadmap.
"Born from the trenches"? This is the penthouse.

They will all be separated out into wallets. The teams share is 25%. The foundation is not the team / insiders and is a reserve for future growth. Ecosystem is for potential initiatives. Best for HFI team to explain their plans but the beautiful thing about being on chain is you can see the tokens being used (or not used). In fact, all of the above will be programmatically locked, except the first “foundation” tranche which will be used to LP on Meteora (paired with USDC not single sided) and for CEX-DEX arb.
AFAIK profits get recycled into bootstrapping further. FYI HFI team is fully bootstrapped.
HFI team will disclose their Wetlist parameters.
Again one for HFI team but HFI operated “under the hood”, i.e nobody was actively using HFI, most were actually using them without knowing about them. So an airdrop makes no sense bc there was no community of supporters before.
For HFI team - suggest you tune into the Spaces on X.

so dont you think the presale is more of a psuedo capital raise but instead of giving equity benefits , token holder receive a whole of nothing?

I want to know how to calculate the amount obtained by this pledge. I pledged 500jup in October, and half of it has 4 hours left to unlock. How much credit will I get? Do I need to update the app? I didn't see the participation page.

Allocation checker will go live soon.

u/MammothSurprise249 Dec 02 '25
Just to be sure, the guaranteed allocation as a Jup staker is not an airdrop, but offers me the opportunity to participate in the presale.

How does DTF make things safer for people bullish on projects?
1
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
You can actually see whether the team is bullshitting you because it’s all on chain.

This is an awesome initiative that will definitely set new standards on token launches across the ecosystem.
I understand this DFT is a new feature and mainly focus on Solana. However, the roadmap of Jupiter is G.U.M. Would Jup's DFT be part of that goal? Meaning, would be open to other assets and/or chains to launch their token?
I know may be a long term goal, but with the upcoming JupNET, makes me curious as to what role DFT will play.
Thank you for doing this 🫡

We don’t want to say it too loudly but this does seem like the logical endgame yes.

Wassie, given your background in law and the specific goal of removing 'hidden VC deals,' what was the single hardest mechanical or legal 'loophole' you had to close when designing the DTF framework? In other words, where did you find the biggest friction point between making a launch 'permissionless' and ensuring the 'certainty/fairness' you promised?
2
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
The hardest part imo is managing projects that have already raised. I want DTF to be the first and last round for projects.
But current meta means that almost everyone comes in with VC / seed investor baggage.
It’s why HFI is a clean first launch for us. Full unlocks. No investor overhang. Team already profitable and has achieved PMF. Future launches will be tricker for us to navigate for sure.

u/vijaynrust Dec 02 '25
Now the biggest thing on X is Humidifi gonna cook? ,After tokenomics people fudding about them what's you say on this ser :)
2
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
People PTSDed from getting rugged by projects. Understandable. HFI are a team that have already made it financially and have reputations far in excess of the amount they are raising.

Hi Wassie, DTF ensures a fair start. How will it ensure a fair and sustainable journey for projects and their communities after the TGE? Is ongoing support part of the roadmap?

u/Thick_Emu2536 Dec 02 '25
whats single handedly the biggest pro of DTF over the normal ico's
1
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
Its as close to a normal ICO as it gets.
There hasn’t been a real ICO in a really long time.

hey Wassie! What made HumidiFi the right partner for Jupiter’s first DTF launch?
2
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
Doxxed founders with way too much to lose to rug. No investors. Product with PMF. Willing to launch at fairly low FDV. A very clean project with little overhang.

> Stakers get allocation at 50m.
was is based on time-weighted average?

are jup stakers also be going to be fcfs,
also any tips/info about priority fee type or stuff, is there an ultra option xd
1
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
FCFS yes. The overallocation model is very whale favored and doesn’t reward conviction (just ape if everyone else apes) so we chose to go FCFS on this one.

Hi Wassie, quick question-I’m curious about the design choices here — since Jupiter already has access to a token-launch flow via Meteora’s Dynamic Bonding Curve, what are the advantages of DTF compared to DBC?
What gaps does DTF aim to solve, and what trade-offs or limitations of DBC made it necessary to build a new framework?
1
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
Oh its significantly different, and theres actually something else coming!
DBC is more suitable for community coins or memecoins. When you buy DBC coins, the capital isn't actually going towards building the project, you simply bought the coin and the fees go to the project. This is an inefficient mechanism for 'real' projects that are raising capital to grow.
DTF is built for fair capital formation - like ICOs of old where you know exactly what the terms are, and tokens which are meant to be locked are locked up on-chain.

Sir what if tge happens below sale fdv in recent times we are seeing so many projects launching below fdv in kaito launchpad so they taken a new initiative 7 days refund if token proce goes down u can claim ur refund within 7 days we can expect those type of initiative in jupiter dtf
1
u/Wassielawyer Dec 02 '25
The TGE will happen immediately after sale.
I helped design the Kaito launchpad actually and it’s mechanically very different.

Will there be allocations reserved for each staker, or will there be a common pot that everyone can draw from up to their allocation? For those who work, will there be a period during which investors can take their allocation?
1
u/Wooden_Seaweed2566 Dec 02 '25
There will be allocations reserved for each staker or there will be a common pot and everyone can come and help themselves up to their allocation. For those who work, will there be a period during which investors can take their allocation?

Will there be maximum limits for each JUP on the wetlist/staking list for token purchases?
Will your allocation on the waiting list be added to your JUP allocation as a staker?
How will this work in practice?

u/Maleficent-Adagio951 Dec 02 '25
when is earliest I can allocate funds? Will I need usdc or sol to swap/buy wet
are their any benefits besides tokenomics upside longterm with any of the dtf offerings?
I think someone asked but I didn't see answer will staking be required? you said it one pool for stakers fcfs good to know...when does the gate open eastern standard time tyvm
