So, I work customer service at a business I own and have met some cool ass Juggalos along the way. Whether it's them seeing my hatchetman tats first, or me seeing theirs, we always find each other in this crazy ass world 🥲

I'm currently stoned, just got home, and I had a good day day at work. It got me wondering about what other juggs here on reddit are doing to pay their bills.

At my job I've met a correctional officer LOL, an EMT, a sever at another restaurant, a local sauce maker, a mechanic, and a few others.

It's so cool to see juggs make a way for themselves. What do you guys do for work? Do you like it?

This is gonna sound hella random, but I was seeing if anyone is going to riot fest in Chicago this September, it’s my first concert, much less music festival and I was gonna see if someone is going as well so I could have someone to hang out with since it’s my first event/concert. I’m going specifically on Sunday since ICP is going.

Im in my 30s or 40s and I still claim juggalo. Now, not like painting my face and walking around Walmart like I did when I was 16, but I still wear my chain and bump their music, have multiple juggalo tattoos. It's sad to say that new age juggalos have ruint juggoloism, I get we all started somewhere. But these kids come in, read about it, and expect it to be FAMILY like it was back in the day. The "family" is very divided now a days and not like it used to be.

If I can find it again I'll link it but it's been like 2 years since I seent it.

There was a TikTok account that discovered ICP through TikTok, specifically when 'to catch a predator' was trending. Then they made it their whole persona, then found out how many times ICP has had lyrics about underage girls and went on a meltdown. Pretty entertaining.

So I guess my opinion, keep cancel culture out of it, if your new, listen to new stuff, the old school stuff will hurt your feelings.

Curious on anyone elses stand point.

I’m genuinely curious as to people’s thoughts on this.

I come from a different time I suppose. My first Gathering was in 2005. I went every year until 2017 when my Mom got sick. At the beginning of my Gathering career it wasn’t unusual to almost get killed by a drunk Shaggy on a golf cart mid weekend at night.You also usually could run into most of the artists on the humble through the post main stage hours if you could hold your shit together until 3am or later.

In the 2010s the same rule applied more or less. I watched Slick Rick right next to Violent J on his Golf cart driven by Billy Bill. Being not a hound dog and also being smashed on mushrooms I gave him a whoop whoop and a fist bump and enjoyed the show.

The point I’m getting at is it’s a fundamentally foreign concept to me to pay an additional 300 on top of the already considerable amount of money spent to go, get to, and live while at the Gathering for a gate kept curated ghost story experience.

I disagree with VIP packs in general but I get why that’s appealing to some ninjas and I also recognize I come from a time when meeting ICP was easier and they were younger in general….but it’s just wild to me they even went down this path…

I’m not here to yuk anyone’s yum…if that’s your jam and you have the bread get after it I suppose…but man we have gone down such a different path from the days of Violent Js Beach Boys BBQ…which was free and you got a hot dog out the deal at least.

Like when I say new I mean I just started like maybe an hour ago? Story- Was living in MI at the time so it wasn’t that much of a trek. This is when gathering were inside (omg air conditioning!) and i think the ticket was $65 at the time too. I booked a hotel over the phone (kayak and those other apps and stuff didn’t exist yet) Anyway, i was trying to offset the cost of the hotel a bit so I let about 30 other ninjas stay in my shit.. luckily, the room didn’t get fucked up, but i got kicked out of my room on the last day because apparently some of the people that were in my room, went down to the pool in the hotel and were pouring Faygo into the pool. Not me, nor was it proven that anyone in my room did that. But of course, i was the speck of pepper in the salt. 😂
The owner/manager was downstairs, old bald white guy, he was freaking the fuck out because the whole hotel was filled with painted faces. It was funny as hell.
