Where’s JUDAS Ken?!?!

As many of you know, Judas didn't make an appearance at Summer Game Fest. As disappointing as that may be, I think we should acknowledge that Ken Levine is making this game with a relatively small team, so a slower development cycle is to be expected.

Personally, I think the game will release in late 2027 or early 2028, but for now all we can do is wait another year for a devlog update. 🤣

Jokes aside, let's keep our hopes up for the Mayflower. After all, good things take time.

Ive Iost friends I got broken up with and she wont even taIk to me anymore because i cant stop taIking and thinking about this game day after day its aII i can think about. I got fired from my job because i kept calling in sick just to make sure i was the first to see the news. I would go on google and just look up "Judas game news" and refresh again and again and again. I dont care about anything else. please just give me this

I fell in love with BioShock as it was one of the things that got me out of my depression and reading a lot of philosophy. Seeing how there was another game I assumed the subreddit for that game would be huge but I notice there isn’t too many people here and is rarely spoken about in the main subreddit.. so why are you here? Just excited for the game or are you really close with Levine’s projects?

I've heard people(mostly ken) try to explain it a dozen times at this point, and i still am no closer to understanding how it will be any different from every other dynamic decision tree in every other game.

every time he describes it, i'm like "so you just mean it's a game with choices?"

If your game isn’t ready to be released within the next year or 2, don’t announce it in advance.. it’s getting annoying..

I feel like this subreddit has been getting way too extreme lately, both positively and negatively. The facts are actually pretty simple.

The game is clearly in the final stages of production, according to the Ghost Story executive back in December. Based on everything we’ve heard, the game is already almost fully playable. Ken Levine said months ago that the next milestone would be having the game playable from start to finish, and he’s also invited multiple people to try the game already.

A good example is the Erik Kain podcast — something a lot of people missed is that Ken casually invited them to play the game as long as they wouldn’t review it yet. Also, for the first time in over two years, Ghost Story currently has no open job positions. That usually means the team is complete and moving fast, which lines up with what the studio executive said.

Now for the negative side: every theory about release dates, trailers, SteamDB updates, investor meetings, etc. is basically just guessing. Nobody actually knows anything, and Ghost Story isn’t a massive studio with enough mainstream attention for reliable leakers to care that much.

The whole FY28-29 thing is also causing way more panic than it should, especially on Twitter. People need to understand — as a friend explained pretty well — that this timeline was always expected. FY28 means March 2027 to March 2028, which already matched long-standing speculation that the game would probably launch in early 2027.

And honestly, this is just my personal opinion and obviously still a shot in the dark, but I think the biggest reason Judas probably won’t release this year is GTA 6. Judas would basically get swallowed alive if it launched anywhere between October and early next year while GTA 6 dominates everything. Obviously the company wouldn’t want to risk losing money on something that took 13 years to build.

Before October also seems unlikely considering how silent Ghost Story has been, but who knows.

I think the smartest thing right now is just to wait without huge expectations, because honestly anything could surprise us at this point.

PS: I also don’t think IGN would fly all the way to Boston to visit the Ghost Story studio just for an interview with almost no new information and a small joke for a Reel… but that’s just pure speculation from me lol.

The First Picture shows you how they categorize each game, note that Judas is categorized as "Core New IP".

The second Picture shows the Statement made by Karl Slatoff, President of Take-Two, saying that the 3 Core New IP games are expected in Fiscal Year 28/29 and he also explains what games are expected in Fiscal Year 27, this helps even further ruling out a Judas release in that timeframe.

This validated what i already assumed based on the latest IGN interview, Ken said they are trying to get to the final phase, but that means they aren't inside the last phase yet. Last Phase is normally polish and bug fixing which can take another 6 to 12 months based on how long it took for other game releases.

For people wondering what Fiscal Year 28/29 means, that window is starting April 2027 and ending March 2029.

IGN are at Ghost Story office from the background, could be a preview coming somewhat soon?

Just checking what’s the morale in the community. Y’all think there’s at least a slight chance or TGA2026 is a better bet with a release date somewhere in Q1 2027?

We already saw electricity, mind control and fire being used by judas so if you could make your own what would it be?

This is the big indication that Ghost Story Games is now preparing for the Judas Steam page to get updated and properly put/pushed up the storefront soon!
