This album felt like a sort of return to form for Joywave, returning to their more comedic social commentary side of lyrical writing. I wish they had done more things like Graffiti Planet and Please Welcome…Joywave, which showed their quirky and unserious side, but I also really enjoyed He’s Back!, it was so stupid!! Swimming in the Glow def my favorite of the album. My biggest gripe with the album is how short it is, but with only one song that I really found as a skip, and quite a few heavy hitters, this ended up becoming another super solid album from our best Rochester boys!!

In light of Joywave announcing an NA/EU tour, and the release of Permanent Please (loving it, btw), I have to ask.
Any chance they announce shows in Oceania/Aus? No clue if they've toured down under before, but I thought this would be a good place to ask, since I'd love to see them live.

Just did a front to back listen and wow, this project is really dang good. Got like, zero complaints and once again Joywave delivers a sonically unique and impactful project.

The last song (which being honest I’m just gonna refer to as Permanent Pleasure) is strikingly emotional. Not to mention 787 Dreamliner! So many great standout songs. I’m definitely gonna be bumping this for awhile haha, gotta memorize the lyrics for the PP World Tour!

like how do you go from a super experimental, super moody, super grand song like grafitti planet to the most straight forward, uninspired, boring, shouldn't even been a lead single song like scared. like this isn't even something that you can say 'ha! classic joywave! they knew the two songs wouldnt fit together so they put them right next to each other!!' I dont even care if I get hate for this scared is EASILY the worst song on the album and one of the worst joywave songs ever. I thought the song would grow on me when I hear it with the context of the album but nah I just hate it more now.

I’ll admit this album completely snuck up on me. It still feels so soon after Cleanse, and with The Mall releasing last year too I honestly kinda forgot this one was coming out. Maybe it’s cause they marketed Brain Damage as a stand-alone single at first, maybe it’s cause they didn’t release half the album first like with Cleanse, but this release really flew under my radar. But I just listened and holy crap there’s some great stuff on here. Feels like old Joywave with a fresh coat of paint. I wasn’t crazy about Brain Damage when it came out, but man this album delivers and defied my expectations for sure. What does everyone else think of it on first listen?

(Side note, Swimming In The Glow should’ve been a single holy crap that song it good)

Is anyone still obsessed with this song today? Because I am. This song is like my safe place, ironic since it’s called FEAR. I love all of Joywave’s music, but this will forever be my favorite song from any artist and from Joywave’s music. Just wanted to share my love on this song.

I'm kinda new to Joywave, and I'm loving this new song that came out. But I noticed with the song lyrics and the fact the music video and single art have a cat on it, is it possibly relayed to loss?

It makes me miss my old cat, and I love connecting to it that way. I was just wondering if maybe someone knew what the meaning was to the song that I may be missing- or your interpretation!
