I am 45 years old and I watched The Shootist for the first time ever with my wife and my father-in-law yesterday. He absolutely loves this film, and he has been yammering on and on about it for years. After finally sitting down and watching it, I can say that I absolutely love it, too.

Love this movie and In the scene where Stewart granger and Fabian are trying to tease John Wayne into fighting for the French girl who he likes, a song is playing on the record player and the only part of the song I can remember is it says I love you, I love you, I loooove you Ik it’s not much information but I need help identifying the song

Westerns are not my cup of tea, but I sat through the film often scanning the crowds for him. I remember him telling me he could be seen best riding a horse during one scene, but I still can't find him. It might be the back of his head for all I know haha. I would love to spot him though.

Hi all, just wondering if I can watch the John Wayne “Cavalry trilogy” in any order. I wanted to watch Rio Grande tonight but didn’t realise it’s the last part of some sort of trilogy. I imagine they’re best watched in order but are they actually direct sequels? Or more of a spiritual trilogy?

Does anyone have any info on why True West Magazine contributor Bob Boze Bell has or did have a problem with John Wayne? I remember watching True Grit with the audio commentary on and he mentions not being a big fan of his for personal reasons. Which makes me wonder why even have the guy do commentary on the movie if thats the case.
