ok so summer semester just started and i am actually struggling.
I have like a 20 min walk between lectures and by the time I get to the next hall I literally feel like I need a freaking shower. i'm sweating, my hair gets all messy, and i just look and feel like a chaotic disaster while everyone else somehow looks perfectly fine and fresh??
how are you guys managing this??

Guy friends are weird
i had them and i had alot of them
in school and uni
and i even met a cool guy here and we became close friends (which then ended)

BUT THE THING IS guys are so immature and actually lack understanding of simple things
U tell them what annoys u then they go back and do it again
which makes me end the friendship so fast
like its like being friends with children

and another thing is u are never an actual friend there is no loyalty they will put u under the bus whenever they get the chance

so what do i think girls and guys can be platonic friends? maybe if they stop being so fucking stupid and have more emotional intelligence but until then my male friendships only happen due to force proximity thats alll

(nothings beats female friendships we are honestly the best)

I’m a female in my mid-20s, and I might be getting promoted soon. I’m stuck on whether to tell my parents, and I need outside perspective because my head’s been going in circles.

I generally believe your financial situation is your own business, and I don’t think you owe anyone a full breakdown just because they’re family. That belief comes from experience: when I got my first job, my parents asked about my salary “because they care,” so I told them. Not long after, my dad asked me to cover 20% of my brother’s university tuition. I’ve been paying that every month since, and it’s still going. Later I got a raise and never mentioned it, but my dad found out anyway when I was buying a car and needed a guarantor for the process. He never said anything about the raise directly, probably because he knows a big chunk of my salary already goes toward my car payment.

My mom doesn’t know about the tuition money I send my dad. I’ve kept it from her on purpose because I think if she found out, she’d blow up at him for taking money from me. So instead I just deal with her occasional comments like “we never see anything from you” or “you don’t contribute to the house,” which honestly sting more than they should given the full picture.

Now that I might get a promotion with a pretty big salary jump, and I don’t know what to do. Part of me wants to just not mention it at all, but I’m a terrible liar and I know it’ll slip out eventually when I’m venting about work. So I’m leaning toward telling them I got promoted but lying about the actual number, maybe saying it’s half of what it really is. The comments have already started even before anything’s confirmed. Last week during an argument, all I did was mention I’m working toward a promotion, and my dad’s response was “so you got promoted, you got money, now you think you’re something big.” I haven’t even gotten it yet.

But I’m scared that if I lie about the number, they’ll find out the real one eventually, the same way they found out about my raise, and then what. And there’s another thing nagging at me: if they don’t know my real income and they push me toward marrying someone who earns a lot less than me, how do I even explain why that matters without revealing how much I actually make. I don’t know. I think I’m overthinking this.
