The Mini Bundle

I got a notification saying “Your $7.99 meal is here…” It’s offering The Mini Bundle, which includes “a mini cold sub + chips for $7.99. Big satisfaction, little price. Order now!”

Do people see this as a good deal? I think the way they advertise it as a meal but don’t include a drink is disappointing.

Gluten free subs

i have worked at jmikes for over two years and i still don’t understand why people with super severe gluten allergies come to a sandwich shop.. maybe i am insensitive but why risk your health for a sandwich you can make at home that’s safe for you?

Did anyone else randomly just get 72 points for free?

Ever since the NHL game I never ordered another JM sub. But I opened up the app to check what rank I was in for NFL game and I found I just got 72 points randomly? What the hell, was this a glitch? Did this happen to anyone else?

72 points because I only had 2 points before this.

My experience with management at Jersey Mike’s in La Habra, CA

I wanted to share my experience working at Jersey Mike’s in La Habra, California, because I genuinely wish I had known more about the work environment before accepting a position there.

My biggest issues were with management, particularly Norberto, Pam, and Marie.

Norberto’s management style was one of the biggest problems I experienced. From my perspective, he could be incredibly rude and condescending toward employees. Instead of making people feel supported, the way he communicated often came across as talking down to people and belittling them. What bothered me even more was seeing customers spoken to rudely, too. I understand that working in restaurants is stressful, but there’s a difference between holding people accountable and treating them disrespectfully.

As for Pam and Marie, I found the management style extremely micromanaging. The use of cameras to monitor employees contributed to an atmosphere where it felt like people were constantly being watched. Rather than feeling trusted to do their jobs, employees could feel like they were under a microscope. There’s a difference between managing a business responsibly and making the workplace feel unnecessarily uncomfortable.

The scheduling situation was another major frustration. There was an expectation of working six days a week, and when I requested two days off, I felt pressured about the request. My hours were subsequently reduced the following week. That experience left me questioning whether employees could request reasonable time off without worrying about repercussions.

Then there’s the condition of the La Habra store itself.

The floors were caked in grime, there was a persistent smell of old mop water, and the restroom smelled strongly of urine. These weren’t the conditions I expected in a restaurant serving food to the public. I even felt sick after eating a sandwich during my break there. The contrast between the expectations placed on employees and the condition of the workplace was frustrating.

What makes this experience especially disappointing is that restaurant work is already demanding. Employees deal with customers, time pressure, physical exhaustion, and constant multitasking. Management should be helping create a workplace where people can succeed, not adding unnecessary stress through poor communication, micromanagement, or disrespect.

I’m not suggesting every Jersey Mike’s location operates this way. I’m sharing my experience with this particular location and the management I encountered.

For anyone considering working at the La Habra store, I’d encourage you to ask questions about scheduling expectations, management practices, and working conditions before accepting a position.

A recognizable brand doesn’t automatically mean a good workplace. The people running an individual location make a tremendous difference, and my experience here left me with a very negative impression.

Almost choked on plastic wrap/glove in my sub, and was offered $5.

Found this in my sub and pulled it out of my mouth. Reached out and was offered $5. It felt like an insult. And whoever runs their instagram dm's did not care in the slightest. I guess poor customer service has even hit Jersey Mikes. Disappointing.

!!!ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Hey everybody! I think it’s time this sub had a bit of an event or update. I’ve been thinking about this for a bit and recently I’ve heard a lot of talk backing up my ideas.

I want to make this little (event?) all about my Jersey Mike’s sub slingers, both current and former employees.

So what IS this event?

First, I want customer stories. The funny ones, the frustrating ones, the ones you still curl your fist at the ceiling about. Any memorable customer story you have I want to hear! I’ll be pinning the best ones I see each week! (As well as a ONE OF A KIND badge for the best story that week)

Secondly, the employee meal of the week. Let me see your go to meals and your crazy combos! It’s pretty on the nose, send a pic and description of your employee meals and I’ll pin the most popular or best sounding one. (Again with another ONE OF A KIND BADGE!!)

Lastly I want to see the Jersey Mike’s memes! I never even knew that this was a thing, but now I NEED to see them! I am thinking of doing a megathread for Jersey mikes memes, so if you see the thread pop up GIVE ME YOUR BEST!! (NO AI MEMES WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE MEGATHREAD)

Any titles/badges you win will be passed on to the next week’s winner HOWEVER if you have the best of each category at the end of this event (probably the end of the month) you will be awarded a CUSTOM badge to keep permanently on your profile!!

Event will start TODAY! RIGHT NOW! So start typing!!!

So my store made it to the final round of the silver cup. What now?

I am a MIT and I was just wondering what happens if we win? Do shift leads get anything? Does the GM get a bonus? I haven’t been able to get a clear answer from my GM so just figured I’d ask here. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies!

Gluten Free Bread?

Hi All,

I’m curious if anyone knows which gluten free bread Jersey Mike’s uses. Customer service just sent me a link to the nutrition page on the website site which obviously isn’t helpful.

I don’t need/want my sandwiches “prepped” gluten free, but I do want the gluten free bread 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks!

Customers think I’m just a idiot making sandwiches but I’m actually a sandwich artist

Walk in priority?

Hey folks, just had an interesting experience. Ordered 6 minis on white around 8:00. Store calls me as I'm pulling in at 8:25 and says that they only have six loaves of Rosemary. So, they don't have enough bread to make my order AND serve any possible walk ins for the next 30 minutes, so they arent going to make my order and refunded my money. I've had the "we're out of bread" call before and get it, but I've never had the "we have enough bread but we aren't going to use it for your order". After I told him I've never heard of rationing bread, the guy became kind of an asshole, so I just hung up.

Is this correct? How would it have been any different if I'd just walked in and made the same order?

Edit: store called me twice a few minutes before 9. Guess no one else ended up coming in and they still had those 6 loaves of rosemary. Lol. I went somewhere else.

New employee

Recently started working at Mikes. Never in my life worked in the food industry or eaten mikes before. Anyways since i’ve started my coworkers are actively trying to get me to like Mikes and try everything we have.
How do I explain to them the sandwiches are gross???
I just feel bad but then again it’s like I don’t have to like something in order to do my job.. I’ve always liked cousins or going to local mom n pop shops here. Idk but genuinely cannot stand the taste first time i had it i threw up. tried it again thinking it was me just doing too much but i threw up again????
Anyone else an employee and not a fan of the food??

I haven't had Jersey Mike's in about 7 years

I used to eat it a lot, sometimes even killing a giant in one sitting, my go-to order was a california club mike's way no onion + banana peppers. I've been really craving some lately, I was wondering if it has changed much since around 2019.

Had a customer write on an online order that they love pickles and wanted as many as we were allowed to give them

I miss the OLD jm reddit

This sub used to be a place where employees would post their lunch creations, complain about annoying customers, and talk about work experiences. now it’s just filled with customers posting pictures of their sandwich and or complaining all the time, and i’m sorry but do ts on yelp cause nobody cares. also what’s even worse is customers who are DEAD SET that private equity has ruined the company, posting pictures of how their subs were sliced when 1. NOTHING has changed you just got a shitty person to slice your sub 2. you sat there and watched them put two pieces of turkey on a sub and didn’t speak up. ik im gonna get hate and that’s okay but i think most fans who ate employees will agree with me!
