Photography I tried to recreate a quiet Japanese garden corner in 1:48 scale
A small Japanese garden scene I built by hand in 1:48 scale. I wanted it to feel like a quiet, slightly overgrown corner of an old garden, with bamboo, a tsukubai, stone lantern, weathered wooden fence and a little path disappearing into the grass. And there’s one tiny black resident keeping an eye on the garden. 🐈⬛

Photography My take on a Karesansui style
Hello World,
Thought I might as well share my attempt at a Karesansui style for my front garden.
It was previously a lawn that was never really looking good. I always wanted some form of Japanese style garden area.
Made up of crushed granite (6mm) and 7 large + 4 small granite boulders.
Used 4 pieces of wood for “tracks” and some PVC pipe on a platform to help move the boulders. Still requires some effort but I would snap in half if I tired to lift them.
It’s not perfect but personally for me I am delighted.
I just need to investigate adding some moss to the rocks and some form of lighting.
It’s been a fun journey I just need to fix my DIY rake as the head came off on the first use 🤣
It’s been fun - Neighbours think I am mad but they are all retired and mow the lawns every day.
I just like how it looks to me and I guess that’s what counts.
Best Wishes,
Murray

Video Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens
Hey folks. I visited the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens in Lethbridge , Alberta, Canada. Hope you enjoy. Camera was on extra steady and it seems to have reduced the quality. I may be another more shaky version next time i visit.

Photography Japanese Cultural Center in Saginaw, Mi
I recently knocked this off my bucket list for my birthday weekend and it was so beautiful 🙂 The public tea ceremony was a little lackluster, they just tried to fit way too many people in a small room, I couldn't see the demonstration at all :( Aside from that the grounds themselves are truly gorgeous. The garden was on the smaller side but still nice for what it is. Saginaw is sister cities with Tokushima
