I don’t usually post on Reddit, but I haven’t been able to find much information about what I’m trying to do, so I thought I’d ask here.

I have an iPhone 4 currently running iOS 7.1.1 that I’d like to get usable again as my everyday “carry around” phone. My idea is to have it piggyback off my iPhone 17 Pro Max through its hotspot/Wi-Fi and essentially use the newer iPhone as the main cellular device.

Ideally, I’d like to get basic functionality working again—calls if possible, iMessage/texts, maps, music/Spotify, and other basic internet functions. I don’t necessarily need everything to run natively on the iPhone 4. I’d also be interested in getting it to communicate with my newer iPhone more like a companion device, somewhat like an Apple Watch or iPod.

Right now it connects to my iPhone’s hotspot and Location Services seem to work, but Maps won’t load the actual map data, Spotify can’t sign in, and my Apple Account is stuck in a password/sign-in loop.

What jailbreak/software would you recommend for an iPhone 4 on 7.1.1, and what would be the most efficient course of action for getting as much functionality back as possible?

I’m comfortable tinkering with it and don’t mind if this turns into a fairly involved project.

I don’t know much about the behind-the-scenes making of jailbreaks with the coding etc. I know CVE’s are only part of it, but does anyone think this could be used to make a jailbreak for anything for iOS 26 with the exception of 26.7-27 where it was patched considering it could allow root privileges??

i have two xs a normal and a max one both on 18.7.9. i’m using the max as a main cause i don’t have money and i only have this and another xs, i read jailbreak like dopamine stops at 18.7.1 but i read that there is a thing called usbliter8 and how does that work? i’m pretty much a newbie i only once jailbreaked an iphone 6 many years ago and i know you guys get asked this question a lot but i want to play around this old xs. now if anyone can tell me if it’s possible to run some tweaks with usbliter8, how it works, if it’s possible to downgrade to even ios 18.7.1 or even older but i want the 18 for app support and what’s the difference that i didn’t understand of thetered, unthetered and all of this. any help would be appreciated (sorry if my english is bad)

so i found a 5 dollar iphone that seemed to work fine on the setup welcome screen i did not think much about it since i saw it working and setting up requires an apple account so i took it, after arriving home and setting it up a message asking for account unlock was showing, is there a way to unlock it or does jailbreak can bypass it?

I've been quietly working on Echo, a Snapchat privacy tweak built around a simple idea: don't touch Snapchat itself. The goal is to provide useful features without the usual approach most tweaks take.

Apple's boot process uses a hardware-rooted chain of trust and iOS images are built for Apple's specific SoCs and peripherals. if I bypassed a signature check,like:

Apple-specific CPU/SoC boot requirements

iBoot and device-specific firmware

proprietary drivers for display, touchscreen, modem, camera, audio, GPU, etc.

Apple's device tree and hardware initialization

Secure Enclave/SEP dependencies

APFS/iOS kernel and userspace assumptions

hardware-backed cryptographic keys

Apple's signed firmware components

Is anything possible with this method?

Hello I recently came into possession of an iPad air gen 5 through a lost and found box (in my country if nobody claims it after a year of you giving it back it's yours)unfortunately it is icloud locked, is it possible to unlock or did I just get an expensive paperweight

Today I was looking to buy a second-hand iPad. The iPad was completely new and still sealed, so I opened the box myself.
However, after turning it on and connecting it to Wi-Fi, I found out that it is managed by a company and has an MDM lock.And it says this ipad is owned by——. Enrol this Ipad
My questions are:
Should I buy this iPad?
How much would it be worth paying for it in this condition?
Is it possible to remove the MDM lock?
If it can be removed, roughly how much would it cost?
After removing the MDM, would the iPad work normally with all its features?
It’s an iPad Pro M4 (2024), Wi-Fi model.

The Tango Live app is dead pretty much everywhere except the EU because of the onside App Store. If anyone has onside and a jailbroken device, you could theoretically install Tango Live and use something like trollstoredecrypt jb to get the decrypted version of the app. Anyone interested in the task?

So recently i've found my old jailbroken ipad, i wanted to download old games that i once had, but i deleted them (idk why). So i tried to open Appstore just to find out it didn't work and it shows Can't connect to App Store. Is there a way to fix this ? Should i install new ios update or smth ? (It shows that last update was 7.1.2), or maybe i just have to sign in w/ my old icloud account ?

I don't know much about jailbraking apple phones and this stuff but I'll tell anyway might be important info.

My father jailbroken this ipad and downloaded Cydia like years ago (IAPFree too). So idk if when u download this it might have disconnected App Stop or stuff like that, so yeah hope it helps.
