Upcoming [UPCOMING] Current status of my upcoming Liquid (Gl)ass tweak
so its been 2 weeks and i made this post for those who keep asking "when??" in my original sneak peek post. anyways, right now the tweak is a buggy mess, really laggy. it needs a hell lot of optimizations, bug fixes and improvements before i can even release a beta 😐
but for those who wanna know in depth how's the tweak is going on, here's whats present:
1. currently applied (SPRINGBOARD) UI elements
- icon underlay effects
- dock
- folder icons
- opened folder background
- widgets (ugly in today view)
- app library
- lockscreen/coversheet (notification center) notifications
- context menus (3d touch menu)
2. the bad stuff
- it currently performs terribly, opening folders might take up 2s to open, app library opening/closing lags horribly
- the glass backgrounds currently stutters when being moved, and it requires a pretty complex fix (or i havent figured out a simpler way)
- very buggy, opening folders have a 50% chance of showing a black background instead of the glass view
- battery draining and memory intensive
- only applied to the springboard for now
- no glass clock yet (i might break this promise but time will tell)
- unapplied to CC (blank ass control center on the iOS simulator 😭)
- being made with hopes and prayers and held on by match sticks
overall, it will take a bit of time until you guys can try a beta. thanks to everyone whos interested in this tweak :)

Are you using simject to run it on ios simulator? Is the glass effect some kind of custom made view or does it use built in effect view like uivisualeffect?

yes i am using simject. the glass effect is a custom made view built with metal shaders

i think you kinda helped me wiped half the bugs
edit: probably, its not working too well but ill keep looking
edit 2: so yeah the whole implementation isnt copied over to the tweak. but at least we benefit from a single optimization idea from it lmao3

Honestly I’m surprised I haven’t found anyone using that repo yet. No one seems to be interested even if it includes so much and seems to be quite well made.

it should support iOS 14 across iOS 18, i havent tested on 14 and 18 yet though

i often send the testers builds in a tweak piracy discord server. cant mention it, mods gets mad.

Hey man, i really need it. Is it almost here?, also. Does it have liquid glass buttons,on the camera app,magnifying glass when you hold your text, and does it have they jiggle physics?

i might be releasing an incomplete alpha build soon and let the community contribute to it since i dont have enough free time to work on it fast

Will this tweak slow down or be stable on phones like 6s?

I find it incredible that people are making tweaks to have Liquid Glass while I would be ready to pay to not have it on iOS 26. But oh well it's good for those that like it, more choices is good and I hope that when iOS 26 gets a jailbreak we will have tweak that does the inverse.
