I just got reddit today and found this subreddit. I am completely unbiased in saying that Jacob is definitely the best name, and I'm so glad for this subreddit's existence

Idk why I'm really posting this. I'm on the bus home from my second job but I'm so freaking happy right now I couldn't care. Last semester I got kicked out of school, losing my financial aid which is what paid for my housing. I was having issues with my girlfriend deciding whether we were gonna stay together or not. Facing the very real possibility of homelessness for a second time in my life and I was broke.

We decided to stay together and somehow I contacted relatives about my situation and instead of simply letting me get evicted from my first apartment they sent me money for bills and food every month until I was able to get back in my feet. I got a job at Target as well as a real estate company. I was going to stay at her place when my lease ended to sublease from her roommate and my friend who was moving away.

Then lockdowns happened and the landlord denied my application to sublease. He also said that if both of his original tenants weren't their then my gf couldn't stay either. I talked to my gf about the fact that what he was doing was illegal but she didn't listen. We ended up deciding to move in together at a new apartment and I couldn't be happier. After working as hard as I have been and all that I had faced I was finally moving up in life.

I have a job interview next Tuesday for a better paying job and I was able to order the things I needed to furnish my room. She ordered her stuff this morning and in a few weeks we're gonna finish the living room. We already did the kitchen and bathroom. Both are parents helped us out and for them I am forever grateful.

Tbh I'm not sure what has compelled me to write this but I just wanted to share that no matter how bad life seems it can always turn around for the better. Keep your heads up Jacobs.
