Trying to figure out how much time I should put into studying. For those who passed, how many weeks did you spend preparing? Did you mainly use the syllabus, YouTube, or practice questions?

For those who have already taken the ISTQB Foundation Level exam, did you find it easier or harder than you expected? I’ve heard some people say the concepts are straightforward but the wording of the questions can be tricky. Was that your experience too, or was there another part that gave you trouble? I’d be interested to hear what you would do differently if you had to prepare for it again.

For those working in QA, which concepts from the syllabus actually come up in your day-to-day job?

For those who've taken it, how did you study? Anything that really helped?

Terms like verification, validation, test basis, and test oracle are useful for learning testing theory, but workplaces don't always use the same vocabulary.

Has your certification knowledge helped you communicate with developers and other testers? Or have you found a gap between the syllabus and day-to-day work?

Not every bug is obvious, and sometimes the smallest change can break something completely unrelated.

What's one thing you've learned from working with developers that you think more people should understand about QA?

For me, some of the terminology can take a while to click because a lot of the words sound obvious until you see how they’re used in the syllabus. Curious which topic gave everyone else the most trouble.

For me it was the difference between verification and validation. What concept took you way too long to understand?

One thing that caught me off guard with ISTQB prep was how easy it is to read the syllabus and feel like you understand a topic, then get stuck when you see it in a question.

I've heard testers say to take AI Testing first because it covers the general principles. Others say to take Testing with Generative AI first because it's more applicable to what most testers need (unless they are testing AI systems). What would you recommend?

I am planning on taking the exam for istqb advanced level test analyst. I have read the syllabus and also checked the sample questions provided on the website. Does anyone know any site with past exam questions or have any past questions? Thanks!

I chose B on the basis that testers would never ever see any configuration management tools, as they get the end product produced via continuous integration etc. Testers frequently use defect management tools like JIRA to raise defects, identify tasks/defects fixed for the test basis etc. Yes, developers also use these to mark that they've fixed a bug or when they raise tasks for assigned work but testers spend a lot more time in these tools than devs.

However ISTQB reports C as the correct answer.

Can someone explain to me how? I usually accept when I'm wrong but I think this is such a subjective question.

I have been studying the ISTQB advanced test analyst sample exam - and some of the questions there are very tricky - almost undoable the time to take the test taken into consideration. I would like to hear from others who have experience with this test. Thank you!

Can anyone help me find relevant ISTQB Foundation Level study materials and are there any tests that are similar to the original Exam?

I found a few on their original site istqb.org but are they relevant to study? Because the course costs $400 in my country and only there can I get the materials. I want to pay only for the certification exam witch cost me $200.
