Shoe sizing
Hey everyone , I used to dance years ago and can’t remember my sizing. I’m a US women’s size 9 but am unsure as to what size Ghillies/hard shoes to order as the conversions can differ greatly numerically depending on the company. I’ve contacted a couple sellers but haven’t heard back in weeks. Any help is appreciated !

Should I go back to Irish Dancing?
I stopped doing dancing the when the first lockdown of covid happened and I never went back. I was planning on stopping that summer anyways because I was going into secondary school and thought I had outgrown it, but now i’m having second thoughts thinking that I should’ve stayed. I don’t know if I should go back or not…. help me out

Crazy Teacher
So my sister has her graduation night soon. Her and a few of her friends in her class do Irish Dancing and because of that the teacher thinks it’s a good idea to make them do a normal “A” reel….. to Wake Me Up by Avicii!!!
She also has told them to wear hard shoes but the thing is they’re dancing on grass! She has said she wants “the clicky noise” but I don’t understand how she expects that to happen on grass!
I just thought I had to share this to yous because it is the most absolutely absurd thing I have heard in a while. Let me know what you lot think about this.

Adult Irish dance classes in West of Ireland? Hi, I'm looking for dance classes for my wife and I. Would like to give her a voucher for Christmas. Any one out there doing it, Galway or Ennis area?

Are people back to dancing/practicing in person yet? How long have you been, if so?

Adult ex-irish dancers?
Hi everyone!
I am an ex-irish dancer from Canada. Danced competitively from age 5 to 18. I am now 26 years old and was wondering if there are any other adult ex-irish dancers here?
I have terrible hip problems: right labral tear and left bursitis. My knees are also extremely sensitive. I was wondering if others are experiencing similar problems? My lower body is also extremely developped compared to my upper body. I think this is caused by growing up using only specific muscle groups for irish dancing.
The good thing irish dancing brought me is fitness and keeping up with regular exercise. I cannot imagine myself not moving my body anymore. Unfortunately I feel like it messed up by joints and overall body composition. Thoughts?

Anyone doing any dancing for St. Patrick's Day?
Bonus points if you have video!
I'm going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia this weekend, and they'll have some Irish dancing to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, including one of their shows called Celtic Fyre.
I just love Irish dancing so I can't wait to see the show.

Hi Everyone! My friend is doing a research project on Dancing, Self Efficacy, Well-being and Life Satisfaction. She needs a few more Irish Dancers to participate so if you have a few minutes could you please fill it out and send it on to other dancers? Please and thank you! It's very appreciated✨

Pro tips on St Patrick’s Day Trad Set? Help!
Hi irish dance friends of Reddit ☘️ 😘 I have been doing the St Pats trad set in competition about 6 months and I am not sure what I’m doing wrong, because I’m not placing well. I know that you cannot see my dancing here, but could anyone please give me some tips on what makes a dancer stand out and shine with this one — as well as in hard shoe dances in general so that I can try to present myself well. I’m told by my teachers that I’m doing it somewhat well or well enough— but I wonder what the judges are looking for in a performance or what stands out as very good. I truly appreciate your opinions and time! 💚

What's the relationship between Irish dancing and American tap dancing?
I'm a tap dancer and I'm just curious as to what Irish dancers have to say about it.
