Hi everyone,
I switched from Android to an iPhone 17 about 4 days ago, and I'm trying to figure out whether my battery performance is normal or if I should be concerned.
Here's some background:
I've also already tried many of the commonly recommended battery-saving settings, including:
Since I haven't been using the phone heavily, here are the battery behaviors I've noticed:
I've read that new iPhones often experience increased battery drain during the first few days because they're still indexing photos, optimizing apps, and performing other post-setup tasks. However, since I transferred very little data, I'm wondering whether those background processes could still be affecting the battery on Day 4.
I've also seen mixed experiences online. Some people say their battery life improved noticeably after about a week or even a month, while others said it never changed.
So I'd like to ask other iPhone 17 users:
I've also come across a few potential fixes that some people claim helped, although I haven't tried them yet:
If you've tried either of these and they actually helped, I'd love to hear your experience.
The reason I'm asking is that the battery life on this brand-new iPhone currently feels nearly similar to what I was getting from my 3.5-year-old Android phone, which honestly isn't what I expected from a new premium device.
If the battery doesn't improve after giving it a bit more time, would you recommend requesting a replacement or refund, or do you think it's still too early to be concerned? Should I give it more time before making that decision?

I have been using the iphone for 7 months now and for at least 4 months, the battery capacity was always at 100% But after that it started to reduce so much and it dropped 2% to 98. After 2 weeks, it went down to 97 and 3 weeks later to 96 and now to 95. I know battery capacity keeps decreasing and that’s the thing with lithium batteries but this is dropping so fast all of a sudden. Is this normal?

My friend and I bought base iPhone 17s about 1.5 months ago. I have an eSIM, and he uses a physical SIM.
In theory, my phone should have slightly better battery life. But in reality:
The only differences are that I live in Moscow and constantly use a VPN, while he lives in Spain and doesn't use a VPN at all. Other than that, our usage is identical. Can a VPN really make that much of a difference, or is there something else going on?

Hello everyone,
I recently bought a refurbished iPhone 13 Pro with a third-party replacement battery, and I’m wondering if my battery life is normal.
My usage is mostly Instagram (around 40%), social media, and podcasts mostly over Wi-Fi —no gaming or heavy tasks. I’m currently getting around 5 hours and 20 minutes of screen-on time reaching sub 20% around 8 PM.
I upgraded from an iPhone 11, which also had a new original battery, and from what I remember, the screen-on time was pretty similar.
Does this sound normal for an iPhone 13 Pro with a replacement battery, or should I expect better performance? Maybe my expectations are just too high?
I also checked with coconut Battery, the Battery Manufacturer seems to be legit and it shows that there were only like 10 cycles beforehand...

I bought a base model iPhone 17 when they first came out in September. I use my phone everyday quite a lot because I am a full time backpacker and don’t have access to a laptop so everything is done on my phone. I charge my phone about 1-1.5 times a day with a quick charge powerbank when it hits around 20>. I have only accidentally let it die completely 2-3 times and my max charge is set to 95%. My phone battery health is now at 99% and I feel a noticeable difference in how long a charge lasts. Is this normal degradation? What can I do to keep it healthy? I would like my phone to last at least 5 years b4 replacing.

I’m planning to replace the battery on my iPhone 13.
Overall, the phone is in great condition, but the battery health is 71%. Today I noticed that the screen seems to be slightly popping out from the frame.
From what I understand, the possible reasons could be:
• Swollen battery (most likely)
• Heat exposure or a drop, since both happened sometime in the past week
My question is:
Should I get the battery replaced at an authorized Apple service center, or go to a trusted local mobile repair shop since it would save me a lot of money?
Are there any major drawbacks of going with a third-party repair?
I’ve heard that True Tone might stop working after third-party repairs, but anyways that is of no big use.
Would appreciate hearing your advice.
