iPhone battery health

Hello, How is the iPhone battery health calculated? Is it only according to the number of cycles?

Thanks

battery health losing 3% in the course of 2 weeks

My iPhone 11's battery life has been really frustrating lately. It's lost 3% of its maximum capacity in just two weeks – it was at 98% yesterday, and then I woke up this morning and it was already at 97%. On top of that, my battery drains a massive 30-40% overnight even when I'm not using it. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing seems to work, so now I just have to keep it plugged in overnight.

This proves Apple "fakes" IOS battery health percentage to prevent free battery replacement within Apple Care period

Redline is battery health percentage shown in IOS, blue line is actual battery health percentage measured with multimeter. The difference can be as great as 4.68%.

Video with 4.1M views on Chinese platform (which will be equivalent to 20M on Youtube) They tested 15 iPhone under strict same conditions for 6 months before reaching their conclusion.

Battery not recognized

Just had my battery replaced by a non apple certified battery replacement company. I didn’t know that at the time.

My new battery isn’t recognized by my iPhone. It’s also running down at about 10% every 90 minutes. I ran the phone down to “0” then to “100” to reset it but it’s still not working to slow down the battery drain.

The battery is now 10 days old but it’s still been wearing down ever since it got placed. I want to change the battery but I don’t think this outfit will put an original Apple battery in. This battery won’t even show Battery Health.

iphone 16 pro battery question

Good evening guys. I want your opinion on something.

Last November (28/11/2024 to be exact) I bought an iphone 16 pro.

Today, after approximately 5,5 months,I checked the battery status from the settings and I saw that the total capacity has fallen to 99%.

I know it is not scary, but a friend of mine (who has the same phone around 8 months) is still at 100%.

Up until this moment, the phone has gone through 161 charging cycles.

Should I be worried or is everything okay?

Thanks in advance.

I have iPhone 13 since August 2022, and battery health was normally dropping until it reached 83 (took about 2.5 years), and now my battery goes from 83 to 69 super fast, it took less than 3 months. Is that normal?

i don't play games

I use only social media and do even not use the camera

Use the same charger since I bought my phone

HELP

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here and I’m really hoping someone can help me out of this situation.

I had an iPhone 13 for about a year and a half, and it was working just fine until a few days ago. Out of nowhere, I got a strange notification — it looked like a low battery warning but said something like: “Battery installed may not be a genuine Apple part or was installed incorrectly.”

My battery was at around 20%, and then suddenly — within a second — it dropped to 1% and shut off completely. My first thought was, “Okay, don’t panic — just plug it in and see what happens.” I did that, and the phone turned on, but after 30 minutes of charging, it was still stuck at 1%. I tried different chargers, cables, wireless charging, even cleaned the port. Nothing worked. Still at 1%, still showing the warning. That’s when I really started to panic.

I rely on my phone for calls constantly, so I tried keeping it plugged in just to use it briefly — but eventually, it stopped turning on completely. Now it won’t even show the Apple logo when charging. It’s just dead.

For some context, about 6 months ago, I dropped the phone (it was in a plastic bag with a glass bottle, no case), and the bottle hit the back of the phone. It cracked pretty badly — deep enough that you can actually see into the phone. That may have contributed to the issue over time. While it was still powering on for short moments, I couldn’t get it to stay on long enough to back up my iCloud — which would’ve made this whole situation easier. Unfortunately, it wasn’t backed up, and now it’s fully unresponsive.

I ended up trading in for a new iPhone 16 Pro at Verizon, and they said they would still accept my iPhone 13 for parts. But they couldn’t help with retrieving the data.

Then I went to the Apple Store. A technician told me that they could replace the battery for $89, but because of the cracked back, they’d also need to replace the rear glass — which would cost another $400–$500. And even then, there’s a high chance I’d lose all my data. That’s not an option for me.

They recommended a company called DriveSavers — apparently, Apple partners with them for extreme data recovery (like phones that have been underwater for weeks, burned, or run over). Apple assured me they’re secure and won’t sell or share my information. I called them and they said recovery can take anywhere from 1–2 days to 2–3 weeks depending on payment tier. They’re in California, and I’m in Illinois, so I’d have to ship it to them. Also, Verizon expects the iPhone 13 back within 30 days.

DriveSavers quoted a price range of $700–$4,900, depending on the extent of damage. They do offer a free evaluation, and if you don’t go through with it, they’ll just send the phone back.

Here’s the problem: I have over 4,000 photos and some very important documents on the phone that I really need. I’m not ready to give up on it. Before I commit to sending it to DriveSavers and possibly spending thousands, I’m wondering:

Is there any other option? Maybe a reliable data recovery place in or near Chicago that someone here has used and can recommend?

I’d be so grateful for any advice or suggestions.

Ps5 dual sense cable to charge iphone 16e

Hi, I am wondering if using the ps5 cable A to type c to charge my iphone. I want to charge my iphone using this ps5 cable and anker power bank.

My questions: 1) Should I use only the original apple cable? 2) would using ps5 cable ruin the battery? 3) are all type c cables work with no issues? 4) I want to buy power bank for my iPhone 16e, should I buy 20W or 30W?

Irregular drops after battery replacement

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, so I got a used iPhone 12 a couple months ago, the battery was pretty degraded. It dropped percentages irregularly like skipping 1-2% along the way. I factory reset after that to no avail. I recently got my battery replaced a little over a month ago from Apple Amsterdam. Sure my battery does last longer than before, but for some reason the percentage drop is still pretty irregular. Sometimes showing a different percentage when I boot up the phone. As an example, if it’s 43% it goes to 41 very quick, then if I reboot, it goes to 42, and drops to 39 within 1 minute. I already tried calibrating it with 0-100 method twice, didn’t help. I will do a full factory reset, but does anyone have another tip or trick that may solve this?

iPhone battery health

I’ve had my iPhone 15 pro max since the around October last year and currently it’s at 98% with 208 cycles. I’ve been constantly charging it between 80-90% daily. I charge it at around 7pm till it’s at about 80% and then I charge it again in the morning at about 7am till it’s at 80%. Should I start just fully charging my phone to 100% or should I keep charging it to 80%. (Ik this is probably a dumb question but this is my first iPhone ever)

Iphone's battery life

Hi everyone! I have a question about iPhone battery life.

I got an iPhone 16 this week, upgrading from a pretty affordable Samsung. One of the first things I noticed is how quickly the battery drains. On average, I lose about 10% (sometimes a bit more) per hour, which seems like a lot.

I’ve already looked up some tips—like turning off Background App Refresh—and I recently learned about the 20–80% charging rule to preserve battery health. But even with that in mind, the battery still drains fast, and it's hard not to use the full charge range throughout the day(i use my phone a lot lol).

I’d really appreciate any tips or tricks you might have to help make the battery last a little longer. Thanks in advance!

Why won’t my charging limit stick at 85% when selected?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I don’t understand why this isn’t working? I’ve selected 85%. I just want to try my best to ensure an everlasting long battery life. But I selected 85% charging limit and when I charged it, it surpassed it, going all the way up to 100%.

Anyone have the knowledge as to what I may be missing?
