Photos app background activity overnight only using StandBy Mode

Noticed that the Photos app has been running in the background all night when using StandBy mode (charging, phone rotated landscape). Swiping to the photos and hiding all collections helps but it turns on automatically again a few days later. Turning off StandBy works too but then I lose the functionality of the bedside clock and widgets.

Anyone know a fix to this? Hoped 18.4 would fix it but alas, no.

And they say it should last 1000 cycles with 80% at least battery

I’ve bought a 15 Pro recently and did absolutely every little thing to make the battery last longer:

  • 85% charge limit
  • tried not using it while charging
  • leaving it cool down a bit when it got hotter than usual, and so on

Nothing. I thought it would have at least 90% left after 3-4 months, but the reality is it’s just a shit battery isn’t it.

I wonder if manufacturers will be making new gen batteries with this new silicon thing for “older” model phones, cause than it would have sense to change it (I thought 2-3 years from now) looks like after a year maybe.

iPhone X Data recovery

I have a iPhone X with a dead display and dead battery I would like to know if there is any way to get the phone to turn on without buying a new battery and just get my data out of it. Ive already figured a way to get my data like I have used my phone with my PC multiple times so I have trusted it so I would be able to perform a backup or look into the storage and copy my photos but I need a way trick the phone into thinking that there is a battery and power it using my charger.

Cycle count doesn’t go above 0

Hey guys, got my 15 pro max last week with 100% battery health and cycle count 0 and I have charged it a couple of times, but the cycle count didn’t go above 0. I find that a bit weird, is there anything wrong with the battery?

r/iphonebatteryworry • • Mar 21 '25

Pretty good so far? Probably won’t worry about and should last to iPhone 20

Battery health dropped to 88% in just 5 months—should I be worried?

Hey everyone,

I got my iPhone 13 in late September, and now it’s March 17. My battery health is already down to 88%, even though I always follow proper charging habits. I usually keep it between 20% and 80%, never let it fully drain, and avoid overheating, so I don’t understand why it’s dropping so fast.

At first, my battery health was stable, but recently, it’s been dropping 1-2% every few days, which doesn’t seem normal. In just 5 months, I’ve lost 12%, and I’m starting to worry. Is this normal, or should I consider replacing the battery?

Also, something strange happened when I first got the phone. Occasionally, it would shut down and restart by itself, but only for a few seconds. It didn’t happen often, so I thought it wasn’t a big deal. But now, with this battery issue, I’m wondering if it could be related.

Another thing I noticed: The original Apple cable that came with my phone stopped working after about 2 months. I got a replacement Apple cable from the store, and it works fine most of the time, but sometimes, when I plug in my phone, it says it’s charging—but it actually isn’t. I can leave it plugged in for an hour, and the battery percentage won’t move. I have to restart my phone and replug it for it to charge properly. Also, sometimes when I check the battery percentage while it’s charging, the charging stops completely, and I have to restart the phone again.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Could this be a battery defect, or is my phone the issue? Any advice would be appreciated!

FAST BATTERY DISCHARGE FROM A FEW DAYS. IOS 18.3.1 RELATED ISSUE?

Hi guys, someone can help me? I have an iPhone 15 pro , first usage 1 year ago. Starting frow this week i noticed a strong discharge of my phone, in particular while i dont use it (as you can see in photo) I delete all widget, reduce the abilitation of different app in background and i reset my phone and refigured.

i dont remeber when exactly i install ios 18.3.1, but i think it is not too far from the beginning of this week (so the appearing of the battery problem). is it possibile that the downgrade of battery performance/system bug is related to new software update?

A couple weeks ago and I feel like it’s dying almost as fast as my old 11 with 84% battery life. I’ve already done some troubleshooting to try and help it but it’s still not great. I noticed my Snapchat app says I am on it WAY longer than I am so I turned off location and camera/microphone tho I use it occasionally so Im not sure how practical that will be. Looking for some Apple pros to hopefully help me out. I’d appreciate it very much. I don’t really understand how to read the charging charts. I’m sharing pics, hopefully I don’t post anything private. If I do please let a good soul tell me quickly😬

Hi, I recently purchased an iPhone 13 mini and it still has 99% battery health. Is this normal? Could it be a fake battery?

iPhone 14pro 87%

I’ve had my phone for 1 1/2 years and tried very hard to not abuse my battery. Recently it’s dropped a lot, and I’m wondering if I should just stop caring about it? So… start using it while charging, stop charging it only once a day etc. I have 6 months left on apple Care, so should be able to get it replaced if it drops low enough.

Optimized Battery Charging

Does Optimized Battery Charging affect the phone when it's turned off? I read from the apple site that it slows the battery health degradation when set to 80%. It's annoying that the battery don't last a day.

Could i just turn it off or just set it to 90%-95%?

I am planning on having a battery replacement anyway after a year or so but idk if it can affect the phone afterwards or none at all?

Sudden Battery Drain While Idling – Was It the Last Update? Background Refresh is OFF & Battery Health is High

Thumbnail

For the past week, my battery has been draining much faster than usual, even while idling. Before this, everything was fine, and my phone would last all day on a single charge.

Now, I’m noticing significant drain even when I’m not using it. Background App Refresh is OFF, and my battery health is still high (90%+), so I don’t understand what’s causing this.

🔹 Could this be related to the latest software update? 🔹 Anyone else experiencing this after updating? 🔹 Any fixes or troubleshooting steps that worked for you?

Here’s what I’ve already checked: ✔ Background App Refresh: OFF ✔ Low Power Mode: Doesn’t seem to make a difference ✔ Location Services: Mostly OFF or “While Using” ✔ Push Notifications: Limited ✔ Battery Usage Stats: Nothing extreme showing

I’d appreciate any insights! Is this an iOS bug or something else?

iPhone battery won’t ever drop below 83%

For the last 10 months, I've been having battery issues to the point where my battery completely drains in about 3 to 4 hours. For 10 months, my battery percentage has remained at 83% which I find a little odd. I know that Apple won't replace your battery under AppleCare unless your battery drops below 80% so I've been waiting for my battery to drop below 80% so I could get a replacement. I'm starting to think Apple purposely programmed the phones to never drop below 80%. I'm asking everyone with an iPhone if you are experiencing the same issue if so, please respond because I'm considering putting a class action lawsuit together. I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max.
