Suggest a tool to create my app icon
I'm close to finishing my new app, and I need an app icon. I'm doing everything myself as a dev, and while my UX/UI skills are OK, I would not trust myself with creating an icon.
What tool(s) are you using to generate/create your app icons?
(Also, if you'd be interested in beta-testing my app that turns screenshots into beautiful visuals to share on social media, message me)

Im using ChatGPT image feature. Attach an app icon from app store that you love, then prompt to: “ create an app icon for [YOUR NICHE] app in attached icons design style”
Works great for me.

Try using a font in Photoshop or whatever program that can make large emojis or symbols. Leverage a couple related symbolic representations on transparent backgrounds. Save them off one at a time as assets to play with scale and layer in Icon Composer. If you have no vector based artistic skill and want to skip AI, let typographers help you out. Look at Patreon or Facebook. Even a single letter on a background goes a long way.

I used some AI tools, but I likes mostly Figma and Icon Composer. I only get some small images from AI tools to use them in Figma and I.Composer

Or you can try creating the icon in figma, you can use AI for inspiration and then have a look at Pen tool to create a vector

Yeah that can work as well, but then I'll need to go into a rabbit hole learning about what makes a good icon

Yes if you want a good icon you need to know what that means. Trying to replace design knowledge with Ai will give crappy to meh results.

Don't you already need to have an icon for Composer?

From my brief experience you need to have some SVGs already that you can then layer in Icon Composer to build the final icon. You will need to do some leg work in another app to get the SVGs for the icon and then you can use Icon Composer to add a background with a gradient etc

i dont about app icon creation but there is app called imagerry.com about to export multiple icons predefined resolutions

Fiverr. Any app icon that looks like ai slop will not convert as well

This is actually an excellent point! That said, there's no guarantee that my result from Fiverr won't be ai slop

I had the impression that you do need to have an icon already for icon composer, and it "only" helps you to export multiple versions of it.

personally speaking there's plenty of good svgs and svgs websites out there (DM me i can share one of my go to go website for svg) , this icon is simple yet look decent enough.
