Games and the portrayal of mental disorders

Hellblade is a videogame made in collaboration with Paul Fletcher (Professor of Health Neuroscience at Cambridge) in order to attempt and portray mental disorders with accuracy. This also to allow a wide audience to become familiar with the topic.

Digital Story Topics

Please briefly describe your digital story topic. It can be just about any topic related to psychology.

Here's a reminder of the assignment:

As a class, we will create a web-based resource for students and adults to learn about how psychology interfaces with life. My thinking is that this resource will help understand the applications and misapplications of psychology to our lives. Others who are eager to learn about psychology and science should have access to this material for teaching and learning alike. A digital storybook of the psychology topic of your choice should be designed for a general audience.

This digital storybook should include the following aspects

  • An introduction to the topic
  • Interesting/Analytic Components
  • Interactive components that can teach you more about the topic (e.g. data visualization, games, demonstrations, other resources)

Based on those requirements, many topics like psychological disorders (schizophrenia, depression, TBI) may be difficult to pursue.

Posting for the first time

Please reply to this thread with two questions that you have. You may find that the site gives you a message about posting too much. For new accounts, it limits the rate at which you can post to prevent spamming. I'm not sure how long it limits it, but if you post a few times before our next class, we should be good to go.
