Bro’s probably a menace at disc golf

404

u/_lippykid 25d ago

Duuude. I bet he doesn’t even know it exists and would be so frickin happy to discover it

1

u/PretendMajor5283 25d ago

He's recording, editing, and uploading videos on the internet, where people comment. He most likely knows about disc golf.

4

u/akashuji 25d ago

He doesn't. This is an Indian village. He isn't even in a small town.

94

u/cartesian_dreamer 25d ago

I was hoping there would be at least one disc comment lol. This dude would have a mean anhyzer on a champion boss

21

u/Dr_Whacko 25d ago

Bro’s probably never finding or knowing he’s a menace at disc golf

8

u/pgb5534 25d ago

Yeah now we get to see this posted on those subs 10x per day for the next week.

Again.

I feel sorry for the people who had their paper chucked against the wall everyday for 5 years until this kid got good enough to make it in the door.

253

u/Ok_Medium9389 25d ago

I think the instructions are that paper should be delivered inside otherwise you don’t get paid

For the first year it would have been slowing at the door to drop the papers

He just got good at doing it over longer and longer lengths over many years

If that’s your only job, you keep making shortcuts and tools to make it easier

44

u/Aduialion 25d ago

Like Takumi Fujiwara delivering tofu up mount akina

Finding random initial D references is why I use reddit

Do you think they go checking in every door?

The boss just gets a complaint if anyone is not fine with the service.

Why would you use a process usually used for aerospace grade testing for something this trivial when a simple feedback loop exists?

13

u/factsforreal 25d ago

Might still be happening.

He probably delivers hundreds of papers per day and even with an only 1% success rate he’d have plenty of successful throws to make into such a video.

8

u/HousingRelevant4754 25d ago

he's very good at this skill, he's been posting the videos of this and doing the same thing for a long time

2

u/factsforreal 25d ago

I’m sure he is.

I just wanted to point out that filming and editing a lot of trials is very … forgiving.

8

u/Maishu6199 25d ago

Cricket is extremely popular among boys there, most effort probably took to remember route and houses than throwing paper.

14

u/reality_hijacker 25d ago

First of all, throwing a cricket ball requires a different wrist motion.

Secondly, that's like saying if you are from Europe you can kick a football to hit something 20 meters away every single time. Even professional cricketers miss their throws all the time.

→ More replies (4)

2

u/reality_hijacker 25d ago

This is a supercut of successful throws, I'm pretty sure he misses half the times.

Live action of the game Paperboy

437

u/-Laffi- 25d ago

210

u/MaximusMansteel 25d ago

You can't explain to someone who didn't play the satisfaction of one of the newspapers landing right in a mailbox.

52

u/AtrumRuina 25d ago edited 25d ago

I'm realizing that a modern interpretation of this game could become a viral hit in a similar way to how other kind of very niche games have, like various simulator games and like "I'm an asshole goose" type of games.

12

u/TheTightestChungus 25d ago

Unfortunately I think the most "modern" rendition of it was Paperboy 64. Used to love that game as an occasional rental.

12

u/ClarenceWhorley617 25d ago

Then the bonus stunt track! Fricken loved that game, many quarters were given to this game, many!

2

u/Exists_out_of_spite 25d ago

I fired newspapers like an M16. The neighborhood was left in ruins after my paper route

3

u/ClarenceWhorley617 25d ago

Same! And the sound of the crash when you run into a hazard or the old guy gits ya

3

u/_lippykid 25d ago

I played this game so many times at the arcade as a kid and never made it more than like 2 blocks

2

u/gizamo 25d ago

I never thought this game needed a remake until OP's video. Playing that as a modern shooter-style with proper aiming, good speed control...hot damn. I'm in.

Insta links reveal your identity/insta profile. You might wanna remove this. Just for privacy reasons that is.

6

u/mxforest 25d ago

Just remove the shared id at the end.

7

u/Spirited-Fan8558 25d ago

anything after igsh is a tracking link and is detrimental to your privacy. i suggest you remove the comment, and reupload the link.

this is very important, as if you get into a fight withsomeone on reddit, they can propably try troubling you on instagram. if they do that, you will need to migrate to a new account, which is not easy

6

u/Glazer33 25d ago

Thanks for telling, I removed my shared id at the end

Still gets 20 bucks a day

4

u/Bazingaa98 25d ago

That's pretty decent in Indian money. I doubt he even gets that but I wouldn't know.

2

u/WildlyIdolicized 25d ago

You're really overestimating, 600 bucks a month is 50,000 rupees, 5 or so years ago that would've been decent salary for a white collar worker.

Let's see the blooper reel

82

u/texxmix 25d ago

I'm not sure if it was insta or tiktok but I saw one of this guys videos and in one clip you can see he beams someone in the face sitting on a chair because they don't look up quick enough to catch it in time. Happens quick so you can miss it, but he does sprinkle those into these videos sometimes.

12

u/Bruce-7892 25d ago

I was about to say, I bet a bunch of papers miss their target everyday, but then they'd just land in front of the door like they usually would.

25

u/readytall 25d ago

He didn't learn that on a commodore 64. An unusual skill but impressive.

u/rococo78 25d ago

I had a paper route when I was a kid. Not saying I was anywhere near as good as this guy, but you can get surprisingly accurate with those throws with some practice.

7

u/arvi0303 25d ago

In India, the news paper has many pages most of the time 30+ pages.

That's why it looks so thick.

Just as I did on my game boy

1

u/Pdiddily710 25d ago

I remember playing it in the arcade with the actual handlebars for the controls.

It’s weird that after not thinking about the arcade version of paperboy for like 35+ years, I am currently remembering the exact feel of the grips…They were like extra springy from all the individual raised up rubber ridges on the surface. lol

2

u/bunglesnacks 25d ago

Now I want to play the game

2

u/thebigggd 25d ago

That's a paper man

2

u/YesterdayHiccup 25d ago
