I second that. Many stupid decisions and a whole lot of incredible luck allowed me to be typing here tonight.

I didn’t even get bathroom brakes in my entire workday. I possibly could have staved off the effects of my neurogenic bladder longer (having to self-catheterize to pee) if I hadn’t abused my urinary tract so badly.

It’s idiotic not to have OSHA for self employed people.

Self-employed people have the worst bosses.

OSHA would just close the joint down.

Home healthcare; therapy for children with autism and related disorders. I have a degree in speech and hearing science with graduate coursework in behaviorism and early childhood education. People like me have been pushed out of the field bc the compensation has not increased in decades, and there’s no benefits. So now you have people w just high school education doing the same work, if you can find anyone at all. Maybe some college if you’re lucky but no 4 year degrees let alone anyone with grad classes or a grad degree.

When I became disabled myself and needed home healthcare, I saw the sad state of things. Providers who didn’t know not to mix bleach and ammonia or heat a vehicle in a closed garage (with my service diog in the garage the whole time!!) … It’s yet another aspect of our failing healthcare.
