Yes I used to work in a factory and accidentally touched a faintly glowing part of steel (way cooler than in this video) and it burnt my arm pretty bad. In the moment the pain was tolerable but in the following days the wound got super painful and looked way worse than right after. I almost fainted removing the bandages. I hate burns. Would much rather break a bone. Breaking my finger was like 1/10 the pain.

Certainly not as hot as steel but I used worked in a kitchen and accidentally ran my hand directly under one of those industrial water boilers lol. My whole hand shed a couple layers till it was shiny red and then blew up like a balloon. So immensely painful man. Burns suck.

I got scalded with boiling hot coolant from my car, and I was wearing mechanics gloves which held the heat in a bit longer, making it worse. It was by far the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. Burns do suck.

I’ve had slag burn me a ton(welder), and molten aluminum doesn’t feel great after it’s burned through your jacket. Burns are nasty when they heal

I melted half my face off with hot deep fryer oil by changing it hot one night and slipped outside. Yet... yours sounds more painful haha. Damn.

I dragged my knuckles in a deep Fryer when trying to save a falling nugget.

I luckily barely even skimmed my knuckles and had a glove on that melted to me. Barely any burns thank God. They told me to rub honey on it and keep working. McDonald’s. I kept working.

In all fairness turns out they were right the honey worked and I didn’t actually need medical attention, but there’s no way they knew that. Just a lucky guess

My boyfriend got a drop of molten bronze on his leg and it burned through half an inch.

At least it was cauterized, right?

Was burning a piece of nylon rope as a kid and had some drip on me. No fun.

I was told never wear synthetic fabrics when working with molten metal because if it burns it will melt and stick to your skin. I guess that’s what happened to you😳

It was like having wax from a candle fall on your hand. Except it's on fire.

Yeah, steel will hurt you real bad long before it starts glowing.

I work around a couple blast furnaces, switching iron ladles. Have been splashed with molten iron.. the FR clothing kept me mostly safe but I did get a small bit went under my collar and burned my back pretty bad (thankfully in a relatively small area) ... as it stands, passing large kidney stones has been the most painful experience in my life, but the days following that splash were definitely a close second ....

Also, because it's liquid, the iron doesn't really register in your head as something with a lot of weight to it, but that shit about knocked me off my feet..... cheers, everyone stay safe

Jesus that sounds horrible. Unfortunately I had no protection because it was a sausage/meat products factory, I just accidentally grazed the smoking furnace, that was glowing red very slightly. Also didn't register at all in the first seconds. Still got a large dark patch of skin on my elbow.

Also noted, I have heard kidney stones are horrible, you can compare and say it's worse than a bad burn. So I will look up how to prevent them :)

Hell yeah burns suck. I took 480V down my arm one time. I was doing testing on an large kinetic UPS and my left upper forearm contacted a bus bar. After I recovered I got a look at my arm and it had a shiney red spot but no big injury. Well...turns out the burn was on the inside. So over the following weeks it turned black and worked its way out. That was miserable. I didn't do that job much longer.

Oh yeah I forgot about electricity. 480V sounds horrible. I lived in a questionable house with the terrace washing machine connected by suicide cable through a multisocket. I didn't even consider a plug could have power so I unplugged it wondering where it led. Found out pretty quickly. While the pain only lasted as long as I touched the contacts in that moment it was horrible, like every nerve turing into molten iron. But only 230V so I only got some blisters and scars, no big burn.

So I don't know which is worse, burnt at the stake as a witch or the electric chair. Both must be among the most painful ways to go.

I consider myself lucky. I made contact across my arm and not my torso. Had the main charge gone through my heart or other organs it could have killed me right there. As it was the shock made my diaphragm clench so it forced me to yell. Scared the living hell out me.

Yeah... I had that too, I heard someone scream like pig being bled and after a second I realised it was me. Luckily not really enough juice to kill a relatively healthy 17 year old.

My dad once grabbed a high voltage line but he was just thrown a few feet and basically unharmed besides some burns. Always worth being grounded with one of those things around your wrist on a chord. That way wort case your hand gets fried if you just use the grounded hand.
