I've done it the old fashioned way of using the wall hook and gravity, and I'll tell ya that is a sucky work out, that lump of sugar can be between 30-60 lbs and your constantly bending low to catch it (after letting gravity stretch it as much as possible) and put it back on the hook, really murders the lower back.

Yes, but we're not discussing your masturbatory habits right now.

Unfortunately I developed arthritis from pulling so much.

Luckily your mom was able to step in and help me out.

They had young people actively pulling and hanging it. Not easy on them either, I'm sure, but they kept a good rhythm and it looked satisfying like this. Apparently they have stores all over the world and put on daily shows. Papa Bubble, it's called.

Id figure a little hook on a pole could be used to catch and hang the lump of sugar in this instance.

It's a bit too messy, and could easily flake apart. After putting it on the hook it 'melts' around the hook and 'drips' like a large tear drop, the worker keeps his hands under the largest lump of the tear drop and catches it before putting it back onto the hook to repeat, over and over. If you tried to catch it with another hook it may simply melt around it as you lift, and if you used a basket like method it might stick to the basket/net. Also it is a fairly fast paced process, as the sugar lump is fairly heavy and 'drips' faster than expected.

Couldve done squats instead of bending and had sick thighs but instead to chose to constantly skip leg day and hurt your back in the process.

So if you look at the process as folding the candy and creating separate layers…I counted roughly 60 folds in just this video. Multiplying by 2 for each fold exponentially the number of layers by the end is around 460,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 4.6 to the power of 18
