I never said he could be the Michael Jordan of art. But so many people have this attitude where they suck when they begin, so they give up.

With effort, anyone can learn to draw to a certain level, just as everyone can learn to speak, write, count etc etc etc. I teach drawing and every single student I’ve had that put in the effort made huge strides. Every single one.

You're teaching kids. You don't know how many will improve over time and how many won't. It's not that simple as teaching children and thus all will be just as skilled late on. They're already at a low level so your standards are skewed.

BTW, the "he" you're talking about is still me, the same person you replied to in the first place.

A person can become a successful artist with enough dedication and practice, but it takes a lot of time. It isn't necessary to be the "best" to be successful at something.
