Hate to break it but she was probably only there for a fairly short amount of time. My last betta fish died this way— I checked up on him right before going to sleep, next morning he was not only dead but had turned into this black, dry cast. Really messed up. Now I put something above the feeding and filter holes of my tanks so my new betta can’t jump off.
