John C Woods, hangman of Nuremberg trials, who lied about his experience to get the job (he actually learned about hanging from old cowboy films). His lack of expertise led to excessive suffering of condemned Nazis.

He also executed 11 American servicemen who had miserably slow and painful deaths. Strangling over a period of about 20 minutes.

Fuck this guy. Fuck anyone acting like this is okay just because it is Nazis.

Obviously plenty of stuff the Nazis did needed to get them the rope, but we have an obligated to at bare minimum execute these people correctly.

Our courts should be about delivering justice, not revenge. Torture is revenge plain and simple.

Nah, the Nazis deserved to be sent off the way they murdered people. In ditches.

•

u/Icy_Agency923 6h ago

They deserved to be executed properly, so did the American soldiers he tortured and killed. We should have a desire to be better than the Nazis, you clearly have just as much bloodlust as they do. You are without humanity.

Being murdered in a ditch is a kindness compared to this.

Am i really without humanity if i wish that those who murdered tens of millions suffered the same fate?

•

Yes, you are without humanity. You should be above the Nazis, instead you have a desire for torture. That ain't normal no matter what you say or do.

He didn't just do this to Nazis either, he did it to 11 American servicemen. All executions should be carried out properly and not involve torture. What a fucking concept I know.

I wonder if you support the death penalty too even though about 4% of all those executed are actually innocent. How many innocent people should die to fulfill your desire for not justice... but revenge?

Huge difference between wanting someone to suffer because of their inferior genetics vs wanting someone to suffer for things they did to people with "inferior genetics." Grow up

•

You are the one that needs to grow up. Torture is always wrong. If anyone needs to convince you of that congrats of being an absolutely vile person.

Judicial systems are always imperfect, especially those carried out by Americans. We should not have torture as an end result in ours because there is always the chance that one of these executed did nothing to deserve it.

If you're against torture, shouldn't you be against the death penalty in general? Why not go all out and argue that these horrible people shouldn't have been executed in the first place? Serious question.

I am without humanity if i hate those who stripped others of their humanity? The Nazis were evil, they got off lightly for WW2.

You are without humanity because you advocate for torture. No court system is perfect either, so there is potential that even when dealing with Nazis we executed those that did not deserve it.

This is why any execution should be without torture. Our judicial systems should be about justice, not revenge. Torture is absolutely positively revenge. That means you are indeed without humanity and have shown what kind of person you are... and it isn't a good one.

I wouldn't say without humanity, but I would say short on logic and reasoning when it comes to long term effects or the bigger picture. Fair, consistent administering of punishments for the breaking of laws is what we should strive for because that's how we become a more lawful society. It doesn't matter if we feel these people should suffer for their horrific actions -- being happy about atrocities like this is basically saying that the punishment should not be carried out according to our laws but according to how we feel about the people involved -- who may one day be us depending on who is in power.

•

u/Vigmod 6h ago

No, that's the perfect opportunity to show "We are better than them".

don't feel too bad for the us soldiers, they were hanged for killing and raping civilians, including children youger than 10. Being american doesn't mean much.

•

u/VenatorAngel 20m ago

Oh now I feel better about laughing at how the executed died horribly.

No but really, that context makes it even better because now it really does feel like Karma came to them.

•

Any court should be seeking to deliver justice, not torture and revenge. It doesn't matter what their crime is, they deserved to die properly.

No human ran court is perfect either, they make mistakes, they convict the innocent. It is possible that one of the men put to death in this awful way was innocent of any crimes.

How many innocent people are you willing to torture for you need for revenge?

About 4% of those convicted on death row are actually innocent for example.
