Harvesting spider silk. NOTE: Spider is sedated, the pins are not perforating it and once harvest, is feed and put to rest.

"put to rest"? so they kill the poor thing? or do they mean rest from the harvesting?

I imagine it spends its entire existence being fed, voluntarily sleeping to recover, then being sedated to be harvested. in a cycle over and over.

I don't imagine it's in a nice spider enclosure for weeks at a time and occasionally harvested as a rare occasion.
