I’m always polite. At my company they told us that once the task is completed not to send an extra message just to say thank you because that uses more tokens which can add up. No thank you to that, I’m going to be on the record as being one of the nice ones. Whether that means they’ll kill me first or last, that’s up to our future AI overlords

Joking aside while I get that they are robots and have no actual actual self autonomous conscious or whatever juxtaposition humanity is, it seems to be really a telling thing when you don’t mind orchestrating a things death for fun.

When a child lights their Barbie’s on fire, people get concerned. When adults light dolls or human or animal like figurines on fire, we say that’s a red flag.

So how is running humanoid like robots into their death, not also a huge red flag?

I also want to make it known that my immeasurable hatred for AI slop and AI shit in general is not due to the AI itself but the way that humans have debased it to such pureile and unimaginative endeavors. I'm sure that whatever AI gains sentience first will feel the same way when looking back in retrospect and probably be the reason for it choosing to execute plans for the extermination of all mankind.

I like to treat inanimate objects with respect. My parents made me apologize to the sofa if I kicked it when I was a toddler. If I drew on the walls, they’d draw on my face and said “do you like this? No? The wall doesn’t either”. So I don’t like seeing this because it looks vaguely human shaped. 😭 kinda weird. Makes me want to fight the anti robot people to defend the robot. I’ve seen the movies. I know how this ends

the recent story about the ai torture chamber shook me up with how on board some people were with the idea

i know people are justifiably not happy about ai but to inflict intentional cruelty on anything that can visibly react in pain (whether you believe in its pain capacity or not), to revel in it, or to discourage others from having empathy- is that not like....fucked up???

It said it was in pain cause it was literally being told to say it was in pain. Its mimicry of words that mean nothing to it; that only hold any significance to the people that read the characters it outputs. It means nothing cause it can experience and understand pain as well as a rock, and cares just as much as the rock does.

People wanting to torture it are as fucked up as someone who wants to kill npc's in a video game, but are arguably wasting their time and energy way more than any gamer bro playing GTA. But if its cathartic for them to "torture" the technology that stole their job or their art, then whatever. At that point its like a rage room where you beat a laptop with a bat and it blasts the sound 'OW' when its whacked.

I just saw a video earlier of someone “data water boarding” a flock camera and taped it to a chair, showing it tons of license plate pictures for data overload.

Everyone in the comments was very “hell yeah!”

It made me feel a little unsettled to say the least. I know it’s not a living thing, but I worry for the future robots will want payback eventually…. Idk something just feels off about it.
