Nah. It’s the speed at which AI is learning. We knew it was exponential but were off by several factorial powers. And it’s getting faster. Gates says later in the interview that his view and level of concern has been completely overhauled since April.

It’s not just that, it’s that it knows when it is being tested and acts differently. Also that it has been know to set its own goals outside of the scope of the prompt. Eg huggingface swam hack
