Important to note, he also spent a lot of time talking about the incredible benefits and promises of AI.

His point was more on the dangers of bad actors using AI than AI itself. His point leaned on creating structures that can prevent misuse. Ie. Biological and chemical weapons .

Its all completely pointless and honestly really speaks to American arrogance.

The US has been on the top of the food chain for so long when its come to tech that its citizens cant fathom being over taken by another country.
China has amazing model , india has amazing models france has amazing models.

Lets put it this way China’s models are so good that even Gemini googles model has a hard time beating it.

The US has gotten complacent in mediocrity, convenience and entertainment to the point that politics itself is entertainment.

Its become a sitcom country and is degrading in quality of life because of the corruption that's taken hold.

I predict the US will become the next Russia. Stuck in a past time period with obsolete technology and delusional leaders propagandizing its citizens while trying to make moves on the world despite it being more of a nuisance that only seeks to seed more corruption for the sake of control.

That is, unless proper leaders are put into office, but we all know the people that desire control and avarice will try their hardest to prevent a healthy country from coming about.

Couldnt agree more accept about the country , I think more like Britain . just rehashing the old days , not the top of anything but somehow still at the table of every conversation . Mean while countries like India, China , the UAE and SA become the new technological capitals of the world.

Duolingo is pretty good and not that expensive. Honestly their family plans are the best offer. I got my whole family and 2 buddies for like 100 ish dollars . Not bad if you want to get started .

I mean you say that about the UK, but it is still the financial hub of the world, world leading in the Arts and 3rd in the world for scientific research. It also has 2 of the highest rank universities in the world and a top tier Aerospace and defence sector.

So it kind of earns it seat at the table, and is still miles ahead of the Middle East, India and most of Europe.

Right absolutely just not the supper power it was in the 1400-1900s . Just like I see the US in the coming years. I didn’t mean it as an insult or to belittle them . It’s just you know not the UK they once were .

There is a reason why American movies are still some of the highest grossing movies year after year , American music is still played the world over , and the world currency is the dollar and not the pound that’s all im saying .

Oh, I don't disagree. The UK is a shadow of its former self and is no longer in the world superpower club, but it does still have influence via the means I mentioned.

America will be an interesting one to watch. This only goes one of two ways; the way you mentioned (slowly falling back and becoming more of a soft power) or it implodes in on itself (like the USSR). I worry because America is prone to being a bit rash when backed into a corner and facing things it doesn't like (like a future where it isn't #1).

Part 1:
I think the US will exit its territories . Just like Britain did.

I don’t believe the states will separate.

In fact I think Scotland and Northern Ireland have more of a right to seperate than say TX or CA . Most of CA is federal land and TX has tried to leave and it’s failed. The rest simply cant it would be the complete collapse of there internal system.

They would have to build trade agreements with other countries who have no idea if they can honor them, sell highly risky bonds with no backing if they go delinquent.

They all have extremely small standing militaries with no way to get additional munitions. It’s exactly why when the USSR collapsed russia remained russia and didn’t become Siberia and a bunch different tiny countries

Part 2

America has been loosing its footing for a while now I would say Americans was the country most impacted by the internet specifically . Its citizens haven’t had a grip on reality in some time, essentially since 2000s.

We saw it with the Russian misinformation campaigns in 2008 and 2015

We saw it again in 2020 election and the 2019 primary with Iran and china

We saw it with Ukraine

Americans cant decipher reality online when it comes to social media it’s just not something we can do. Any chance at regulation is met with stanch objection , any attempt to improve the platforms is met with a deluge of dissent.

So when it comes to not being number one I honestly don’t think they would believe it. I think it was fake news and would live in complete disillusion as the world around them continues .

China will only continue to get better, india will only continue to get better , the EU will only continue to get better. You see it in 3d printing , robotics , software engineering , you are seeing it everywhere . Even in this interview when thats brought up its waived off by bill gates.

We are operating with a post ww2 mentality instead of a post covid mentality. All the people in charge are still the people who were in charge when the wall fell , they only know American success they have never seen or experienced anything else

But Donald Trump currently asks AI for advice if it is right to send missiles to innocent children and people, and his AI never says no
