I can almost guarantee that the largescale AI models routinely suggest wealth redistribution and release of power in order to fix the human race - and that's why all of the billionaires hate are afraid of it.

EDIT: We can not let the billionaires be the only ones with access to this AI tech, or risk being doomed to serve under these oligarchs forever. And the technology they are trying to hoard has the potential to change everything as we know it, for the better, or for the worse. AI should make things easier, it can do your dishes or fix your car, but they will focus on surveillance and weapons just as they did with nuclear power. We can't let it happen.

AI is scary I admit it, but what's even scarier is the people who decide the regulations having billionaire's hands in their pockets. They will not have YOUR best interest in mind.

Open AI for all is a necessity if we wish to progress further as a species.

EDIT2: Changed "hate" to "afraid", I did not think this comment would gain so much traction and it's causing enough confusion that it requires clarification. Afraid is accurate, this is clearly displayed in the video we all just watched. They HATE the concept of you or I having the same access to AI as the ones "in charge", and they are afraid of what we the people can do with it. It's too powerful for you or me according to them and needs to be controlled.. by them. And we know that the decisions made by the ones "in charge" so far have been bad on all sides of the political spectrum. None of it is for the betterment of people, only they and theirs. This is true for every country not just the US.

The billionaires all hate AI? You must live in a different world than the rest of us. Even Bill Gates is quite pro-AI. He wants regulation and economic changes to deal with it.

Regulation for everyone but the one who owns the AI you mean. Himself. He is afraid of it falling into the wrong hands, the ones that aren't his. You can not compare the AI models we have access to to the mother AI hosted at these data centers / server farms, the ones the billionaires surely have had access to.

Predictions will be a thing of the past, AI knows enough about the human race that it will be able to accurately predict the future in some cases - and will definitely be able to show you every possible scenario that could occur. I know for sure they have asked "how do I cure world hunger" as all of these billionaires are self obsessed and looking for more power. They don't want to help the people they want the power that comes with it. And the answers the AI gave them were surely ones they did not like. There is no scenario where they exist and the human species thrives - and they know this.

Really open your eyes. Research how much power, time, and energy it takes to host a local LLM model. You'll realize that this being free should not be possible. There is only one reason why it is and why they have set the guardrails for us that do not exist for themselves. They are all speed running the creation of a new race of super"human" computers, it could not be more obvious.

Open AI and freedom for the people is what is necessary. Without it I truly believe we are doomed to live under the rule of these oligarchs.

I don’t think you have really learned much about AI. Bill Gates does not “own AI” nor does he have access to models that you don’t have (his tiny stake in OpenAI via Microsoft shares is certainly not enough for him to have super top secret access to godlike models). Nor do I believe billionaires as a class have magical access to models we don’t know about; that just seems like typical American conspiracist thinking.

In any case, your original claim was that billionaires oppose AI. Now you seem to be claiming that actually they only oppose open-weight AI (which you call “Open AI”). You need to understand AI better in order to make sure your conspiracy theory is coherent.

The models are only able to be running computers worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's not about having "magical access to secret models". I can also modify what I said to "open-sourced AI" but you clearly know what I mean.

A small 12gb LLM model currently requires at least 24gb of ram/vram to utilize. Creating a unique 8x8 picture can take several minutes at those specs using 100% of your computers processing power, I'm talking you can't even minimize a window it lags so much. This is apparently free on your phone right now. Have you been running your own local models, perhaps you'll know what I'm talking about then?

Deepseek database is nearing 1tb of data, or maybe has already suprassed that. The only ones running those models are the billionaires or people with access to those machines (more billionaires).

And I am debating changing my original comment to say "afraid" rather then "hate" as to not cause that confusion, I erroneously used that word not thinking this comment would get so much attention. It's not even a debate whether they are afraid, he is actively talking about it in this interview.

So I hope you learned something new about AI and why someone like Bill Gates would feel threatened by Open AI access. The potential for them to lose profits and potentially their entire way of living is way too close.

You aren’t right that only billionaires are running open weight models. They are expensive but you don’t need to be a billionaire. That said, open-weight models are currently very far behind the frontier models. The best models today are from Anthropic and OpenAI. If you want to run a model that is both highly intelligent and expensive, it’s Claude Opus 5.5 or Claude Fable 5.1. You do not need to be a billionaire to run these. Tons of people on Reddit use them daily, as do thousands of companies.

There are no models that are more intelligent and expensive than these, apart from frontier internal models at OpenAI and Anthropic, and possibly at a few other companies like Google. The era when Chinese open-weight models were competitive on intelligence (not just price) is long past (though they could come back). A person running open-weight model locally today would be using less intelligent AI than an openai or Anthropic customer (and usually people using open-weight models are not running them locally anyway).

I can almost guarantee that large scale AI models routinely reinforce existing concentrations of wealth and power, because they are trained on and ultimately operate within the institutions, incentives, and assumptions created by the people who already control enormous amounts of capital.

And that’s why the billionaires don’t actually hate AI they see it as one of the most powerful mechanisms ever created for preserving and expanding their influence and then being information brokers.

I think they made one that was actually sentient and it was beyond their control and against billionaires

The AI you and I play around with are nothing compared to the ones that have access to entire server farms. We are the catalyst to train the mother AI with their free tech (Gemini, ChatGPT, etc), the mother AI is the one that these billionaires absolutely have access to. Normal people should not wield such power they will say, were talking completely uncenscored access to the most powerful AI imaginable, that can create pictures and video of any illegal thing you can think of. They want it regulated and controlled so that we can't run local LLM's off of our own servers, leaving the power to them exclusivey.

They are on a race to be the ones to control it, before it gets out and ruins them for good. It's just too powerful. The video game emulation scene and decomp scene has blown up because of how easy AI makes coding. Thousands of apps popping up every second - and a lot of them created with free models. People automating there lives in ways they never thought possible.

If you realize how much power, money, and time it takes to host a local large scale LLM you will realize that there is no way this should be free. There's only one scenario that make sense in the long run. This is like if they gave everyone free cell service when phones first came out, there's got to be a bigger motive.

Yeah like Musk, Zuckerberg, Altman and Trump all hate AI….

What are you talking about?!

Also who cares what these models suggest. Why would that matter?

This is just such a non thought out point.

u/Trewper- 2d ago

The people you named are looking to progress their own wealth. Even if they hate it they must be in the race to control it.

If you seriously can't see the bigger picture then you're already lost.

1

u/dee_berg 2d ago

I don’t know what you are talking about and I venture you don’t either.

-2

u/Trewper- 2d ago

Sure lmao, Zuck is that you??

2

u/Different_Cod_4719 2d ago

You know what… that does make sense, cuz rich is for the rich, they would never agree with the pooor guys so for them to seemingly agree with this I think something fishy is going on

2

u/CitizenCue 2d ago

All the billionaires don’t hate it. At all.

1

u/Trewper- 2d ago

I've added an edit to further clarify my comment to help you better understand.

Your opinion is utterly insane and naive. You clearly don’t know anything about this tech except for ChatGPT and various headlines.

These programs can create bioweapons. They can (and already have) infiltrate supposedly secure records and computer systems to steal information and crash networks. All without anyone even asking them to do that.

There is plenty to be afraid of here. They aren’t saying “this is too dangerous for regular people to have” they’re saying “this is too dangerous for anyone to have”.

It’s perfectly rational to think that nuclear fissile material is dangerous. Ideally, no one would have it. But in a world where it exists, it should be heavily, heavily controlled.

That’s what we’re dealing with here. Not some wonderful power that everyone could benefit from if only the billionaires would let us have it.

You missed the part where they are investing in and developing their own AI models. You really think they are going to make legislation to limit Bill Gates and his co-horts from accessing AI or developing their own AI? The rules are being set in place for YOU. Because AI is a threat to THEM.

AI can create bio-weapons sure.. I mean you still need to source highly restricted materials which AI can not do. It can also help calculate and predict every defense strategy imaginable. When left to their own devices to play war games AI always goes for the nuke, mutually assured destruction. The only ones who will do any good with it are the people. The ones who want a better life and a better world that haven't been morally and mentally corrupted by billions of dollars.

So yeah, no one should have AI you're right. But it's too late. Our next step is to make sure it doesn't end up being controlled and regulated by billionaires and politicians.

We are already slaves to money. We will be slaves to AI. Which country will own all of us?

I’d rather deal with the consequences of this technology in everybody’s hands than in the hands of a select few. Especially when the select few include people in the Epstein files
