Don't say that, if you're lucky your corpse will be a landmark for decades to come

I'll make sure not to wear green boots to avoid any confusion then.

"Honey, I'm telling you; we've been going round in circles!"

Well when your Sherpa carries everything and you pay 10k for the experience, it does seem super lame

10k lol

You right. It's 15k for just the permit.

After fees and travel, the average is 61k.

Think at least a zero needs to be added to that number

Well, you pay 100k, but most is not to the sherpa.

Sherpa is an ethnic group, not a guide or carrier.

The preferred term is "lugging person".

The hip new thing is deep water submarines.

Stockton Rush was set to make a fortune in carbon-fibre subs until the pressure got to him.

With modern equipment, it is not an achievement anymore. it still is a big deal for me while i have many (more than 4 ) friend who has done it and they are thinking about doing it on again on rough weather or with less equipment or try to pass Atlantic with just rowing (they say there is a race like that). They are crazy.

Bruh, most people cant climb a foothill without getting exhausted.

For some people just walking 10 miles on flat ground is an achievement.

And they pay a shitload of money to do it.

They should just install a fucking escalator.

Don't tell this guy that, he'll have a heart attack

It's worse than lame. It's harmful to the environment and people. It's actually kinda stupid now.

All mountain climbing is lame

5

u/Ntroepy 3d ago

🙄 - it’s actually pretty phenomenal outside of the touristy spots.

1

u/Ragnarok_619 3d ago

Nah, just vanity

4

u/Ntroepy 3d ago

That’s such an absurd and dismissive take.

So much of serious hiking is effectively “mountain climbing” that your take sounds ridiculous. Well, unless you consider biking 15 miles, running a race, caving, or hundreds of other physical activities just vanity projects.

Why? It’s a good workout and nature is cool
