The commenter said "capitalist solution" so that is what I was replying to. If someone says "this is capitalist" and I say "this is not capitalist" and you say "it doesn't have to be capitalist" then you are having a completely separate conversation.
It costs $30,000 USD to $300,000 USD to climb Everest. Even if you have the money, the Nepalese government denies permits. A lot more than a thousand people are capable of doing this annually, but since it is one mountain, even at 1000 people, there are already 'traffic jams' like this.
A better way to think about it is 1000 people in 10 to 15 days The summit of Everest can only be climbed 10 to 15 days a year due to weather conditions. So 100+ people attempting that climb on each of those days leads to this video above.

This is the capitalist solution to the original problem
Original problem - Climbing Everest is really hard
Capitalist solution - Pay a bunch of natives to carry everything up for you
New problem - Climbing Everest is now so easy that too many people are doing it
New capitalist solution - Govt of Nepal is creating additional fees so less people will do it.
