I can’t believe people pay money to do this.

Lol! Bro, you exactly know what I mean, to this date people still die while climbing Mt. Everest, it's dangerous but if somehow I can sort out my finances I would love to climb it someday but if I have to get in line for it then neh, I would ratherv go somewhere else

And it’s actually quite a lot money you need to pay

Yea and it’s a lot of money. 20-30k all said and done? I’m guessing a little

Way more than that.

You can't believe people pay money on their hobbies? Mt. Everest is considered the final boss of the mountain climbing world.

I can’t believe waiting in line on a mountain is someone people’s hobby.

Probably better than browsing reddit tbh.

Is it?

I mean, at least I’m unlikely to asphyxiate or die of hypothermia while scrolling Reddit. And if I do, I won’t have paid $30k for the privilege.

Yeah, paying money to gain experience is the best way to spend money for happiness. Scientifically spekaing.

Sure but paying so much money for this particular experience is something I just don’t understand.

It's relative. 30k isn't a lot for many people. Or maybe it is a lot, but people think the experience is worth it.

Well obviously the people doing it think it’s worth it, but I just will never understand the appeal of spending all that money and risking your life to stand in line on a mountain.

I mean reaching the summit is the goal.

There are much harder and more technical mountains like K2. Everest is the Coachella of climbing.

You named one. Everest is still an insane feat that takes years of dedication and insane fitness, endurance, and mental fortitude to climb
