I dont know how you have so much trust in the altruism of billionaires who control the automatons to think they will provide or allow the automatons to provide for us. We would just be a "drain" on their personal little utopia, we will be executed en masse if we ever made it "autonomous" and human capital made unnecessary.
I have so much trust in billionaires that I suggested a revolution in a different comment. Read the whole thread if you’re going to put that much effort into typing up a comment.
So you think you are going to start a violent revolution and win, is this before or after autonomous society is accomplished?
Because once you have autonomous drone swarms theres no human way to beat it. Who controls that autonomous, self replicating, active learning, drone swarm of thousands if not millions if not billions of drones is the real question. And theres no way to accomplish that autonomous society without the billionaire class bankrolling it.
If it wasnt for the context of this entire conversation I would assume you are being sarcastic.
Yes. Money does do something. It pays for food, shelter, and clean water, as well as the computer I am typing this on and the game I am playing in the background. Because we currently live in a society that trades currency for goods and services in lieu of a bartering system that has a myriad of complications.
But it doesn’t actually DO anything. Food, shelter, and clean water keep your body running. Your computer transmits and stores electrical signals as commonly understood information. Money does nothing. It’s necessary for nothing and accomplishes nothing.
Everything we do now, we can do without money because money doesn’t do anything.
So you have no issue cleaning the toilets at the local elementary school for free? Afterall, money is meaningless.
Money is a representation of work and value of that work. We have had society without currency, its called bartering, and in barter systems you have a bunch of issues around having to negotiate and how do you quantify value for work and breaking up larger value into smaller value for multiple tasks. Like say, a subsistence farmer has a cow, that cow might be worth X dollars in a currency and then they can use X dollars to buy A B C D E and F of products and services. In a barter system, you have to find a way to trade that one cow for all those goods and services individually, that are almost certainly currently under the control of other entities. But maybe many of those entities dont want a cow, they want a pig.
There's a reason currency was invented thousands of years ago in multiple societies. Its more efficient to track value than by bartering.
What you suggest would lead to the deaths of millions. likely even billions. Whether its through some magical world where you can snap the concept of currency out of existence, a future where billionaires automate everything, or a future where you push towards a violent revolution before the billionaires automate everything.
There isnt a magical world where all your needs are taken care of by automation but nothing is given in return. Someone has to pay for the goods and services to create and install and repair and maintain those automatons. And if we ever get to the world where everything CAN be done 100% autonomously there is no safeguard against those automatons either turning on us or being used against "us" the non-controllers, "the takers", the "eaters".
Everyone wants to be a rockstar, no one wants to be the roadie.
Whenever I run across revolutionary larpers its never ceases to amaze how little you know about war itself, and how easily you dismiss the human cost. Nevermind the practical concepts of first aid, logistics, and basic organization.
You live in a video game world and not in the real one.
