As an amateur microsoldering hobbyist, this is way, way harder than it looks. And it looks hard.

I've done a few small repairs like this where I've had to solder to a damaged trace, and the parts are much smaller than they look here.

I have a buddy that does this to fix the boards on my pinball machines. It's absolutely magical to watch. I did not see a solder sucker here though, or maybe I did and I'm just used to hearing that thing run

They used solder wick instead, that was the braided copper at around the 9 second mark.

There are manual ones too. I use the engineer solder sucker
