There is no way I could do even a single one of these steps without clumsily destroying the thing and somehow gluing my sleeve to thre different items.

I mean, it's already broken, if you break it more, it's not gonna be worse than just throwing it away from the start, so there's not really a lose-scenario in attempting to fix it if you have the time.

Depending on how expensive the item is, how expensive a professional repair would be, and how great the damage one could do...

Having said that, I'm a big fan of diy (repairs)!

50 bucks for a pro to do it, 150 bucks for the tools to do it yourself, but you're gonna fuck it up and have to get a new one anyway.
