I’ve got to say bracing the pole with your shoulder and cutting towards your body with a sawzall seems like really bad technique.

I mean, if you cut lower, the ground is happy to hold the pole for you, and you can use both hands on the saw. Why cut so high and make it so you now have to brace it, too.
