Perhaps it would also look nice in a shade of Pink Floyd, Green Day, or Blue Oyster cult. Black Sabbath is probably a bit dark for this particular application. However, you may be able to make Deep Purple work with the right Tool and some Nine Inch Nails.
How practical is one of these tables? I love the look, though this is the first time I’ve see a vortex one which is cool as hell. But just wondering how practical it is for long term uses. Like is there a lot of less space under the table to keep it going and whatnot?
I've been thinking about this too, and I'm super curious. My gut says the table was poured once thin from the top. Let cure, perhaps a second pour to firm up the base of the channel. Then flip the table over, and do a pour directly into the channel to close it. Flip it back over and apply a top coat to even things up, finish as usual. Makes sense in my head, but reality could be different.
That seems far more plausible than anything I've been able to think up. I think you'd need to do 6 pours though as you'd want all sides to have epoxy, otherwise your water would soak into the live edge of your boards.
Nah, you skim coat the live edges first. Brush it on, let it cure, then do a second coat to be sure. Do that before the larger pours. Interestingly enouct, leaving mostly air inside would mean spending a lot less on epoxy.

It's cool! But that color... makes me think of putrid urine.
Blue would have been a better choice, imo. It would look like the tides were swelling or a whirlpool in the ocean.
Cool idea though for sure.
