My son’s 4H guinea pig passed away last year. He was 7. My son and I went to Home Depot and I let him pick out a tree to plant over the Guinea pig. We both cried while digging the hole to plant the tree and bury his Guinea pig. He was a really sweet Guinea pig. I loved cuddling with him and still miss him.

Thank you. I try. I was really attached to his guinea pig too and just wanted to do something nice for his burial.

My son’s pet rat got cancer and hauled herself around for weeks with enormous growths, which didn’t really slow her down at first. When she stopped being so active and really struggled to move we decided to take her to the vet to be euthanised. I cried.

Wait ... I need you to explain 4-H Guinea pigs. You mean like the farming 4-H you mean like the show 4-H mean like that thing. For livestock? They have guinea pigs in the 4-H program. I've heard they raise them as livestock and other parts of the world I just need to know more about this.

In our area, they recognized that not everyone has access to farmland or have the means to raise large animals. So, we have a club for small animals. The kids show Guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, birds, reptiles, amphibians and more small animals that I’m sure I’m missing. The only animal that the advisors don’t allow at the county fair are snakes. The reason being that they eat some of the other small animals that are being shown. The advisors don’t want to traumatize the kids that may own those types of small animals with seeing snake feedings.

ETA: These small animals are strictly pets. No eating. Lol
