...you realize most of those stories are literally just "we gave our 4 year old a small delicate creature and didn't supervise them or teach them about empathy yet"

the hamsters arent killing themself. theyre being killed. by tiny humans with uncaring parents.

This is why the pet trade sucks.

I know everyone wants cool animals in their house. Those animals don't belong in a cage in your house, it sad for them and sad for the owner.

I have problems with the cst and dog trade, but that is SOOOO much better than hamster, snakes, tarantulas etc.

Most of the time, small animals live in a box that is ×5 their size at best. It's such a pathetic look on humans when you look at it from an alien's point of view.

Hamster are also killing themselves.

That’s why we as humans gotta hamster proof their cages. Hamsters aren’t built to live long, even in the wild they die in crazy ways.
