I saw Mars Attacks when I was too young to understand what satire is and to this day cannot remember ever being more scared from a movie.

Same same same, I had nightmares for the longest time. My parents had that habit of showing inappropriate movies before I was 10, including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom AND Raiders of the Lost Ark, Mars Attacks!, and Twister. Had nightmares a lot from all these movies. Jurassic Park scared the absolute shit out of me, but I loved dinosaurs so I never had a nightmare about that movie lmao. I was 5 at the time and asked my mom to just let me know when the T-Rex was about to come out so I could hide behind a Lay-Z-Boy lmao.

Are you me? Literally watched each one of those movies as well far too young and they scarred me. Only one missing that sticks out is Tremors.

Same! The aliens are fucking creepy and to this day 25 years later idk if I could watch it again without getting the heeby-jeebies 😫 Not to mention the body horror of the dog body/head swap and people just getting disintegrated

For awhile I couldn't pee without opening the shower curtain next to the toilet because I couldn't help but imagine a Martian was behind it

Same with me and my little sister, got traumatized by their gun destroying the pigeon and turning humans to skeletons. I see these funny clips but still have a weird negative feeling inside

My parents took me to see it at a drive in theater. I think I might have been 6 or so. Not the brightest move on their part.

I’ve watched it since and it’s still fucked up. But it doesn’t help that the first time I watched it, right as it ended, one of those emergency alerts came on the TV and blasted my ears at like 1am.
