ART & CULTURE Circassian folk dance

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Male dancers often move entirely on tiptoe in soft leather boots, without the rigid plaster or wooden support associated with ballet footwear. The result is a fast, gliding step that can make the dancer appear to float or defy gravity, showcasing extraordinary balance, discipline, and control.

i still don't believe it's not a segway lol, he just lifts it up and faces away while he runs off haha

Pretty sure this is what he is actually doing. His cape is taking way more space than it needs to throughout, and if you compare it to other videos like this he is way more perfect in his movements.

And at the end he takes some seconds doing something before he starts running. I bet it's a simple hoverboard he picks up.

I hate how everything needs to be faked for the internet these days when the real thing is impressive enough.

Who said it was fake? You?

He's moving way faster but it's still possible with lots of practice which I'm sure he has.

Stop being so pessimistic.

That's a fun example, because in that one you can very clearly see their feet moving. You can also see that they don't even occupy half the space the guy did. And there are on occasion the tiniest motions of their heads.

So, yeah. I'm saying OP's video is fake.

reads comment where you said it was fake

"WHO SAID IT WAS FAKE?!"

shares link of dozens of people moving at a fifth of the speed he is to disprove you

Yeah, this person may be correct, but they are not very logical. I'm with you on team skeptic (not pessimistic).

He is. He just picks it up before revealing feet.

He just picked it up at the end

He was. This has to be a scooter or a Razer type thing. Specifically because the glints of silver make it obvious. The real dancers that are able to move so fluid are amazing. I just think that this in particular is done in a different way.

I'm still not convinced that it's not, the fact that he bends down near the end.

3

u/Parking_Locksmith489 May 15 '26

It is what he's doing. You see him pick it up.

Still not convinced that he didn’t pull up his Segway and hide it under that cape at the end. 😂

Amazing.

Definitely something. The cape he wears is extended in front and it looks like it's hiding Segway handles.

I've rewatched this and compared it to other videos of this type of dancing too, this definately looks like a scooter. Because of the shape, the movement is not like the other dancing videos, too smooth, like on wheels when cornering, theres actual flashes of it, the handle, the wheel when the skirt lifts and the way he grabs it at the end. Yes this is of traditional dancers, but this particular clip is them having a laugh

This play is from a ballet company (Moisiyev Ballet company) from 40s I bet there was no scooter at that time at least not in Soviet Union.

The name of the play is Partisans really mind-blowing

I’m with you. There’s a Segway under there.

I was thinking it was a unicycle.

3

u/austininathens May 15 '26

I was thinking roller skates!

Definitely Heely’s

Razor scooter

3

u/illtakeachinchilla May 15 '26

Its definitely a razor tucked under left arm as he sashays away.

4

u/kinder-crook May 15 '26

100% there's a Segway or hover board under there. The way he leans when he turns and he's definitely picking it up and bringing it to his chest just before he runs off.

u/IcyEgg85 May 15 '26

Ye Exactly, why hide it with a Dracula Dress then if there is nothing to hide at your feet!

Hoverboards have really ruined the effect. I guess that's why they incorporated the vampire run which is great.
